I believe that food should be fun and cooking should be enjoyable. I believe that we are what we eat and food has the ability to heal our bodies along with nourishing us. The catch is that this can only be achieved by eating whole foods.
Real Foods.
Foods that we have to touch and prepare. Not foods that come from a box, get heated up in the microwave, and scarfed down in front of the TV.
I’m talking about foods that you have to cook and assemble in some way.
Real food does not mean processed food. Real Food is simple food and processed as little as possible. Real Food is made up of:
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- Whole Grains (oats, brown rice, whole wheat etc.)
- Locally Raised Meats (or at least, pasture raised, organic meats)
- Wild-Caught Seafood
- Local dairy products
- Highest quality foods you can get
Real food can be things like canned beans, frozen vegetables, and canned tomatoes.
Real food has either no ingredient list or the ingredient list is short and sweet, consisting of items you can recognize and pronounce.
Real food doesn’t contain chemicals and preservatives. Real food wasn’t developed in a lab. Real food isn’t made up of cheap fillers.
Real foods not only feed us, but they sustain and nourish us. Living a healthy life doesn’t have to be hard, expensive, or challenging. It can be amazing!
Real foods are foods that you touch. That you embrace. That you get involved with and turn into a meal.
But you have to be willing to put in the work and some effort. Nothing comes for free; we have to want it and be willing to work for it.
So let’s get back in the kitchen, spend some time making great food so that we can heal and nourish our bodies!
Embrace Food, Embrace Life!
Your food philosophy is spot on!!
