2012 What A Year

Hiking at Chatauqua Park 2012 was a gigantic year for Scott and I. I’m pretty sure that it can be considered the biggest year we’ve had together.

To put it in a few words, Scott got a new job, our dog passed away, and we moved across the country.

Sprinkled in among all of that are things like selling our second home, getting a new wellness certification (me), and learning how to run at elevation.

BIG YEAR.

For 2012, I decided to take on a word for the year and have that be my focus.

Last year my word was Explore.  I admit that part of the reason for picking that word was because I knew we’d be moving.

I have done a lot of exploring this year on many levels.  Some were fun, like new foods and new places.  Some were devastating, like loss and heartache.

All of these things helped me grow into a new person with new perspectives and new life experiences under my belt.  All of those things make me really excited about 2013!

I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be just as big and adventurous as 2012.

I’m not sure if I’ll pick another word to focus on for the year or not.  I have several personal goals that I would like to focus on this year along with several goals that Scott and I have as a couple.

Some of my favorite moments from 2012 include food and travel!

Pappy's SmokehouseEating some fantastic BBQ during the drive from Ohio to Colorado.

2012 Balloon Fiesta Morning LaunchBalloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

Pastured Cows at Sunrise Ranch The mountains, finding tons of local resources for foods, and exploring this new city of ours.

2012 was hard, stressful, and jam packed with adventures.

2013 is going to be all about new beginnings, new experiences, and new loves.

How was 2012 for you and are you looking forward to new beginnings?

I look forward to hearing all about your adventures in Colorado. I’m also secretly hoping you guys get another dog. :)

2012 was great for us! The only minor hiccup was J getting laid off for a couple of months during the summer, but he bounced back with a new job at his previous employer that allows him to work from home. We bought a house, got a puppy, and had a baby girl. I’m looking forward to watching her grow and learn this year. I’m also hoping to get this new place furnished to be more “us” and get rid of old/hand-me-down furniture.
