Pizza Thursday Report for September 16th, 2010

Hi gang!  How are all my foodies doing this week?  Did you miss the pizza recap last week while I was away? I have been busy trying to catch up and prepare for this week.

I have to tell you that I am floored September is flying by so quickly!  I feel it’s going a little too fast and I can’t keep up.  I have so many things planned and so many things I want to do on the blog that I’m afraid I might not fit it all in.  Yikes!

Columbus has jumped right into fall weather with both feet.  We’ve been having cool days and cooler evenings.  In the mornings for my runs, I have to wear long sleeves and sometimes gloves.  It’s awesome!  I hoping to bust out my fall decorations this weekend.  I bought some new fall candles and am already in the holiday planning mode.  Meal plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas along with what kind of foodie gifts I’m making this year.

While I enjoy sitting on my deck and grilling on the weekends, this is by far my favorite time of year!

Alright let’s get down to pizza business!  Scott and I ate early yesterday because both of us were starving!

  • Whole Wheat Crust
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Shredded moz and asiago
  • Green Peppers
  • Red Onion
  • Yellow and Red Tomato
  • Spicy Italian Sausage
  • Shredded Carrot

I had three huge pieces!

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I hope I can go back to the spelt crust because I miss it!  I know some might think the shredded carrot is odd, but I promise you can’t taste it.  Being shredded it crisps up nicely and adds some extra veg without being in your face about it.  I don’t have a close up of my three pieces, they turned out too dark.

Antiques Roadshow was so cute last night!  There was an older lady who had this simple folk art painted trunk that was $18-25K!  There was also someone who actually had the original puppets from Rudolph!  They were a little rough looking but oh they were so so cute.

Someone had this shelf clock that really didn’t look much like anything, not even any kind of decorations on it and it was $75K!  Some lady brought it a Chinese robe from the 1600s, can you imagine?!  All this super old stuff amazes me.

Wine last night was a lovely dry red and we typically pick this up at our local Whole Foods.  It’s Monte Antico Toscana and it goes great with pizza or other heavier type dishes.  Dessert was some dark chocolate squares.  Red wine and dark chocolate makes a fab combo!

I have gotten so much great feedback from you guys about the pizza recaps!  So many have told me on Twitter, in person, and through emails that you really enjoy the weekly posts.  I’m glad because we love pizza!  Hooray for pizza!

Now tell me how your week is going!

  1. Okay, so I think I’m officially at the point where I’m no longer motivated to make my own pizza. I just want a slice of yours! It always looks so good! I love the addition of the carrots.
