In Love

Hi gang! This week was a rough one and a bit off in terms of training.  I only did weights once this week and all my runs, except my long run, were all shorties.  They were good runs, but I was hoping to have a bit more miles going into my long run but it wasn’t happening.  It can be frustrating but I also have to remind myself that it isn’t the end of the world.

I tend to take my workouts one day at a time.  I have a plan in my head how I want to approach the week but I’m flexible as well.  If I’m tired, or something isn’t happening, I’m not going to push it.

Today’s long run was amazing.  I was skeptical going into the run because, not mentioning any names, but someone woke me up an hour before my alarm was set to go off.  *sigh*  Whatever, roll with the punches right?

Today was a heck of a lot more nicer than last Sunday!  It was overcast, cooler, and a constant breeze!   The humidity was still high but with no sun and a breeze, it was easy to combat it.  I didn’t have to wear my Camelbak which I was very thankful for!

One quick stop back home after a 4.5 loop so I could grab some water I had sitting out, then it was off for the rest of my run.  I was able to bust out 12 miles and it felt awesome!

My knee had a weird little twinge on the outside which I was hoping wouldn’t cause me to cut the run and head home early.  It did not but it was a bit sore once the run was over.

After my shower, I quick put on my leg sleeves and no lie, within about 15-20 minutes, my knee twinge was gone.

GONE friends!

That’s me kicking it with my sexy leg sleeves and chilling on the couch.  I promise the shot on the TV was coincidental and this post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Nissan.  Too bad.

I will do a proper review of the leg sleeves, but trust me when I say to get some because they are awesome.  I’m totally going to get more.  In that picture you can also see my spikey ball on the floor.  It massages feet and is also amazing after a long run.

Those are my current two running things that I’m in LOVE with!  I’m grateful for winning the leg sleeves and for Scott buying himself the spikey ball and then allowing me to steal it away.

Alright loves, I need to get Sunday Breakfast started.  Tell me how your week was!

  1. Yay for great long runs!! Congrats, sister!

This past week was a rough one for me, too. Stressful fo sho. I’m hoping this week is better.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

    • Thanks Heather! I’m hoping this week is a lot easier too!
Laura, I can’t say if the sleeves will help your knees or not. You might need a brace or a knee band instead.
      Sennet, they are pretty fab!
Heidi, YaY new shoes! Usually I think shoes get replaced around the 100 mile mark, don’t they? Maybe I’m wrong!
Ginny, I feel super hardcore and also a little goofy but they work!

  2. I need to get me some of those leg sleeves! I’m always getting knee pain, it doesn’t stop my runs but I have to be careful afterwards and can’t run consecutive days most of the time.

My workout week was not so great. I missed some runs because I was having foot issues — I figured out that my shoes were failing on me (with only 100 miles on them!). And I missed my long run because today I was catching up on things after being gone all day yesterday supporting my hubby while he did Pelotonia.

I bought new shoes today. So I’m hoping to get back on the running wagon this week and throw in an extra short run for good measure. Hopefully it works out and I can return to my long-run schedule next week.
