Andrea Works-out: May 10th-16th, 2010

Whoa this week was so strange! :O  I had a cold or something going on.  I’m not sure what it was but it knocked me out for a few days.  I felt alright but then towards the end of the day I would get really tired and start to feel like butt.

Monday, 10th:

I did nothing.  I literally slept all day long which is something I never do!  Sunday evening I started feeling like blah so I knew I was going to sleep-in on Monday and take a rest day.  I slept in then went back to bed and slept until close to dinner time.  Then I was back in bed after dinner for the rest of the night.

Tuesday, 11th:

Another rest day.  I was sure if I would be hitting Muay Thai class up later in the evening so I decided that since I was so wrecked on Monday to just take it easy on Tuesday.  Turns out I did not go to class because by the end of the day I was wiped out.  Meh.  I think I was in bed by 8pm!

Wednesday, 12th:

Okay if I didn’t run I was going to lose my mind.  True statement.  So I busted out six miles and I was really happy with that run!  I felt good and the run felt good so I thought that maybe I was on the mend.

Wrong!  I crashed out later that day.

It was at this point I was starting to get agitated.  Holy cow I don’t get sick so the fact I was sick AND it was preventing me from working out and sleeping well was starting to get to me.  Cue Cranky Andrea.

Thursday, 13th:

I ran 3 miles because I would be damned if I would let this cold get me down.  So a shortie run “naked”. :D  Naked = no gear.  No heart rate monitor, watch, or anything that tracks your run/distance/pace/whatever.  It’s a free run where you’re running to enjoy the run and not to track anything.

Friday, 14th:

Normally a rest day but heck I’ve been resting all week!  I did another short 3 mile run and whooo that was tough!  It was windy and I was just tired and worn out.  Fridays are always hard runs for me because eating pizza and having wine the night before just weight me down.  Oy!  Now you know why Friday is my rest day! :p

Saturday, 15th:

A rest day by accident! I thought we were going to be spending the day doing yard work so I was going to consider that as my workout.  However instead the day was spent running around and doing chores.  Oh well, stuff had to get done so I’m not going to stress about it.

Sunday, 16h:

Long run, hooray!  Eleven miles in the bag baby, yeah!  My longest run since the half and it felt amazing.  I was a little nervous at first because I didn’t eat enough yesterday, my stomach was growling while I slept.  Whooops!  I had a bit of extra food this morning before my run, wished for the best, and headed out for the run.

It was overcast today and gloomy so I was hoping I didn’t get rained on.  The weather was warm but with a cool breeze, it was totally perfect for a long run.  I didn’t get hungry during the run and I had plenty of energy.  I got to see some baby geese this morning which is the best part of my Sunday runs.  All the spring babies! :D

Total miles for the week: 23

I’ve completed the 50 miles for May challenge! Whooo!  I’m currently at 61 miles for the month of May.  I wonder if I can bust a hundred in a month?  Last month (April) I ran 89 miles. Pretty awesome!

  1. You are a machine! I’m totally in awe.

    I think that sometimes our bodies just can’t take much more and they NEED a break. I’ve been going to bed lately by 9:30pm just because my body is so exhausted. It’s still trying to recover from exams and from moving house, I think!
