December 8th, 2009: crisis levels

Hi gang!  We were late leaving SF last night and by the time we got home I was a bit hungry.  I decided to stay up a bit late since I knew I was not going to run this morning, and we watched some hockey.

Tea and toast

I had some tea and two slices of cinnamon raisin Ezek bread with a touch of butter and cinnamon.  YUM!  Although I have to say while it’s tasty, the cinnamon raisin Ezek bread is not my favorite.  I much prefer the other breads.

I crashed around midnight and woke up at 8:30 this morning.  I ran yesterday and afterwards my hamstrings were a bit sore.  Since I don’t normally run on Mondays, I usually take it as a rest day, I decided that I would make today a rest day.  My hams are still a bit tight and my knee is a little sore from last night’s class, so it’s a good thing I decided to chill this morning.

The HQ is currently in crisis mode but it seems that I’m the only one who is taking this seriously.

Coffee and oatbran

I made a lovely bowl of oatbran for breakfast.  Basic plain oatbran with just a small amount of chocolate whey protein powder added in for some extra umph.  We are currently now down to one banana in the house. I did a lot of blog work and then I took Rocky out for a walk.  Ooo it was chilly and windy! A nasty storm is rumored to be headed this way and I’m curious to see what the outcome is going to be.

When we got back home it was time for some lunch up in here.

Salad

A monster of a salad!  We are out of carrots and it won’t be but a minute before we are out of salad greens and cucumber. Scary times!

  • Mixed greens
  • Cucumber
  • Diced red apple
  • Cranberries
  • Red onion
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Feta
  • Pecans

Balsamic+honey+olive oil on top.

Smoothie

Smoothie!  After I made this smoothie, we are now down to only some frozen pineapple as our only frozen fruit source.

  • 1C Carrot Juice
  • 1C Unsweetened Cranberry Pomegranate juice
  • 1C Water
  • Kale
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen pineapple

Smoothie, salad, and fruit

In the middle was some oranges.  Those were the last three oranges leaving the fresh fruit choice to be between green or red apples.

My house is a crazah mess!  I still have Christmas decorations out everywhere.  That needs wrapped up but quick because I have to move on to bigger and better things.

Like shopping.  I have yet to purchase any Christmas gifts at all.  And baking, I’ve made nothing!  Zoinks!

We kicked it MT style (where today I learned how to do flying knees! oh watch out!)and came home to some Fish Tuesday!

Fish, rice, and asparagus

Today was flounder with:

  • Teriyaki
  • Dijon
  • Horseradish
  • Hot sauce
  • Garlic powder, cayenne, and curry powder

A bit different in taste.  Not bad but not sure I would go that route again. :p  Along with some white jasmine rice and roasted asparagus.

Fish, rice, and asparagus

I loaded up mah plate because I was hungry!  The fish were small which is why I ate two, and I cleaned that whole plate!  I may nibble on something later as I still feel a bit hungry.  The weather outside is nasty!  Freezing rain and windy.  Yuck.  Wondering what tomorrow is going to be like and if I’ll get to run in the morning.

Till then my pretties!

  1. I like the Ezek cinnamon raisin english muffins, never tried the bread though.

Yay for fish tuesday! Sorry the ingredient combo didn’t work out as you’d hoped, but I think all of them sound delicious, so maybe they each deserve their own fish filet ;)

It’s been raining here for almost 24 hours and the temp is gunna DROP tomorrow…I’m already preparing to be bundled up for the rest of the week!
