November 28th and 29th, 2009: Keep it clean

Hi guys! Yesterday was so boring that I’ll try not put you to sleep. :p

Saturday:

I got up and made something this blog or my bod hasn’t seen in quite some time.

Coffee and oatbran

Oatbran!  Pumpkin oatbran with some blueberries and walnuts tossed in for some fun, along with coffee of course.  Then it was off to Muay Thai!  I was seriously looking forward to some workout action.  After all that heavy Thanksgiving food, I really needed to get a sweat going and help move that stuff along and out of the system.  Not that the dinner I created was “bad” but Thanksgiving food does tend to be heavy.

After MT, we hit the grocery store for bananas because I was out, then it was home to some lunch because I was starving.

Smoothie, veggies, black bean burger

I tried a Morningstar blackbean burger that I topped with just a touch of pepperjack cheese and had with some salsa on the side.  This burger was so good!  I just loved it.

Some carrots, cucumber, and crackers to have with some hummus.

Smoothie!

  • 1C OJ
  • 1C Carrot juice
  • 1C Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • Spinach
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango

Lunch was quick, easy, and filling.  I took Rocks for a walk and then showered.

Then I crashed out in bed for a nap. :o  I never nap anymore, it messes with my sleep schedule.  Yesterday however, I think the busy-ness of the week finally caught up to me because my bod was just crashing.  So I chilled it for about an hour or so.

When I got back up, I made some dinner that did not consist of leftovers.  Lord I am so over Thanksgiving dinner. :p

Salad

There was a fabbo side salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Carrot
  • Cucumber
  • Cranberries
  • Walnuts and Pecans
  • Pumpkin and sunflower seeds
  • Feta cheese

Pear balsamic, honey, and olive oil on top.  YUM!

Risotto

And a super lovely risotto on the side.

  • Onion
  • Green pepper
  • Sundried tomato
  • Shrimp and bay scallops

It’s pink because I used the last of the red wine that was open and needed used up.  I wasn’t drinking it, I am wined out!  But I wasn’t about to toss it either. ;)  So into the risotto it went.

Salad and risotto

Later as a snack, I had two or maybe three, I don’t remember, chocolate mint cookies.

Chocolate mint cookies

I really needed to keep things clean and simple because the heavy food was getting to me.  One way that really helps clean my body out is eating nuts and seeds.  For me, they totally wipe out my digestive tract leaving it and me all clean and happy.  TMI?  I think you can handle it. :D  When I need to hit a sort of detox mode, I turn immediately to the nuts and seeds.

It wasn’t long before I headed up to bed to read for a bit and crash out early.  Hooray!

Sunday:

Chocolate soymilk

I got up early this morning and headed out for my long run.  My goal was 7 miles today but I also realized that it had been a while since I’ve done 7 miles so I honestly would take whatever I could get.

I am pleased to tell you that I busted out 7 miles. Rock on!  Whoo!  After stretching and showering, it was time for some fuel.

Coffee, yogurt, and granola

I had a decent size bowl of 2% Fage with some homemade granola with some dark chocolate chips on top because they were much needed.

I putzed around on the computer a bit this morning while enjoying some coffee with the last of the actual creamer.  Mmmmm!

Scott eventually got up and thank goodness because I was ready for some Sunday breakfast!

Pumpkin pancake

Pumpkin-cran cider pancakes which had pumpkin, apple cider, and some cranberry sauce mixed in.

Fizzie

Triple citrus cranberry fizzie!

Fresh squeezed lime and tangerine juice + OJ + cranberry juice + seltzer for some fizz.

Juice, pancakes, fruit, and sausage

Chicken sausage on the side and some oranges and bananas in the middle for some fruit action. Sunday breakfast was delish and the company was fab.

We took Rocks out for his walk and then sort of just moved and grooved around the house putting away fall decorations and doing some prep work for Christmas decorations to come out.  Not but a few hours after Sunday breakfast I was hungry for a snack.  Long run days equal munch all day days which I don’t mind when I can eat some awesome good for me stuffs. :)

Soymilk, apple, crackers, and PBIt also means I need to take in some extra protein.  My snack was a huge apple, kashi honey crackers, PB, and a glass of soymilk.  YUM!

Eventually it was time to kick out some dinner and I had a laid back plan for Sunday Supper.

Turkey and kale soup

Easy soup!  My basic kale and white bean soup with some leftover turkey added in.  Big pieces so that I could eat around them. :D  The rest of the turkey got frozen for meals later.

Soup and bread With some homemade wheat dinner rolls and buttah.  Um, add on another bowl of soup and 1.5 pieces of roll and you have my dinner. :D  I do believe there is some pumpkin pie in my future as well!

Now I’m off to chillz with my boys for the rest of the evening before starting a brand new work week.  Till tomorrow my pretties!
