November 27th, 2009: Couch potato

Hi guys! This is going to be the quickest and probably lamest post because I did absolutely nothing yesterday. :p  And it was fantastic!

I got up yesterday and was debating a run.  I needed to run but I was still really tired and just sort of blah.  Actually the perfect time to run but you know how you debate things with yourself.  I took one look outside and saw that it was snowing!  That got me out the door for a run, no way I was missing the chance to run in the first snow of the season. :D

It was so cold and very very windy so I only made it through 2.5 miles but I was happy with that.  My bod could have done 4 miles but the wind made me come home a bit early.  I showered and had yet another yogurt mess.  Theme of the week!

Coffee and yogurt

Scott got up and we chatted for a bit before beginning our day of nothing.  We sat on the couch and played the new Ratchet and Clank that just came out (PS3 video game series for those that don’t game. ;) ).  LOVE!  Ratchet and Clank is one of my favorite series of games. :D

We took a break for some lunch and a quick walk with Rocky.

Smoothie, salad, orangesGreen smoothie:

  • 1C Soymilk
  • 1C Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1C water
  • Spinach
  • 1/2 a frozen banana
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango

Salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Shredded carrots and zucchini
  • Cucumber
  • Cranberries
  • Pumpkin seeds

Topped with balsamic, honey, and olive oil (new fave combo).

And some oranges on the side, and a whole wheat roll from Thanksgiving dinner that I didn’t get to eat with dinner. :D

TeaI had some tea too during the day while I played.  It was chilly and I was chilly, so warm tea to help keep cozy!

Then you guessed it, more playing!  Eventually at dinner time we decided to hang it up and conclude the gaming for the day. ;)  Dinner of course was leftovers.  I saw Al Roker talk to Jillian during the Thanksgiving Day Parade (which was lame and I had to turn off) and her advice was to eat Thanksgiving and don’t worry about it but get rid of leftovers.  Don’t eat the leftovers.  Clearly Jillian has never spent three days cooking and prepping for Thanksgiving dinner because leftovers are the cook’s best friend.  And also, no leftovers?  Bullshit.  If your dinner was good and well made the first time, leftovers aren’t going to hurt you.

Thanksgiving leftoversI have:

  • Mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Sweet potato casserole
  • Stuffing
  • Roasted veggies (carrots and parsnips)

And that was my leftover dinner.  I’m at my T-day limit though, ready to move on to something else.

We watched the finale of DWTS and I’m not upset that Donny Osmond won, he did a good job.  However Kelly Osborne never should have made it to the finals, she stinks.  Seriously, she just doesn’t look good.  Joanna, the swimsuit model, just got robbed.  She should have made it to the finale.  Anyway, then we moved on to something else and to dessert!

white wine pumpkin pieI had a glass of white and some pumpkin pie!  Lauren, we didn’t have pie Thanksgiving day because we ate dinner so late that neither of us were hungry for dessert.  Last night I was having some pie though!

The crust is vegan, made with whole wheat pastry flour, olive oil, and water.  It was so awesome that if I could eat a whole plate of just crust I would have.  The pie filling was not vegan becuase it had egg whites but those could easily be left out.  I had them on hand so I used them and just sort of created the filling on the fly.  It was amazing and I had a whole 1/4 pie.  Oh yeah! :D  Granted the pie is small but still, I was in food heaven.  It was awesome!

Then I crashed out in bed.  I had a rough day you know. ;)

  1. Sounds like a glorious day with the snow, leftovers, and rest! And I agree with you, Jillian can shove it, leftover turkey sandwiches are one of the best things about Thanksgiving! ;)

  2. Freakin’ Jillian. She posted on FB (we’re friends, don’t you know?) that she went out for Thanksgiving dinner. Plus she sells diet pills. It’s okay. I still love her.
