October 9th, 2009: Frankie says relax

Hi gang!  I am so glad it’s Friday, ‘taint even funny.  This has been one long mambajamba week and I’m glad to be looking at its ass.  For reals!

Last night I got to bed way too late due to sitting at my desk watching Monday’s Dancing with the Stars episode.  See it didn’t tape on the DVR, and after much apologies from Scott, we set up camp at my desk to watch the show.  It was lovely. :twitch:  It was 11:30 by the time I hit the bed and much later by the time I actually fell asleep.  While snug at my desk I munched.

Red wine and chocolate

A glass of red and two squares of dark chocolate with sea salt.  You must try this flavor of chocolate!  It’s so good it’s ridiculous.  I got mine at World Market.  Mmm mmm!

Once I realized that sleeping was not going to be blissful, I turned off my alarm knowing full well that getting up early on top of crap sleep would be a huge mistake.  I eventually got up at 7am to start my day and I immediately went right to work after taking care of Rocks.  It was pouring outside so no run for this sister.  Exercise this week has been so lame and it’s starting to get to my head a bit.  I’m feeling cooped up.

I worked for a long while, maybe three hours or so, then finally broke for some breakfast.

Coffee, yogurt, and fruit

Huge yogurt mess and coffee.  Granny smith apple + banilla + granola = awesome sauce.  I used vanilla soymilk in my coffee this morning and it worked good enough.  Our milk intake has gone way up since we started using it instead of creamer and then the added cottage cheese in breakfast this week.  OY!  I’m wondering if the milk is the cause for my digestive tract running less than it’s normal stellar self.  Mini-test going on!  Of course milk products won’t be gone completely, I love yogurt and cheese!  But I’m going back down to normal intake amounts.

After breakfast it was more work.  And work and work and work.  Finally I finished my batch of tapes around 2pm and much rejoicing happened.  I then made us some lunchie.

Salad

Salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Red onion
  • Cucumber
  • Peas and corn
  • Carrot
  • Banana peppers
  • Small amount of salmon

Drizzle of yogurt ranch after the pic was taken.

Smoothie

Smoothie!

  • 1C Carrot juice
  • 1C US cranberry juice
  • Splash of Kiwi POM (new flava!)
  • 1C Water
  • Kale
  • 1 parsnip
  • Frozen bananas
  • Frozen blueberries

Mmm mmmm!

Pear

Red pear for moi (Scott doesn’t like pears.  I know, he be crazah!)

Smoothie, salad, and fruit

Lunch was fantastic and totally refueled me so I could clean the kitchen and then clean the house.  Once the house was clean I changed into workout clothes and headed down to the basement for a heavy bag workout.

Yup we have a heavy bag.  Well technically it’s mine, as Scott got it for me for a birthday prezzie a few years ago.  But I let him use it. ;)  Our workouts have been nonexistent as of late.  Runs are getting kiboshed due to weather and MT has been missed for various reasons.  I needed to get my punching on!  For forty-five minutes I kicked it with the heavy bag.  Whooo!

After my workout, I took a lovely bath and put on new jammies!  I think a lot of people change more often but I wear the same jammies all week.  I’m clean so to me, no biggie.  I change jammies when I clean the house.  And new jammie day is just about pretty awesome.  So is new sheets day which just happens to be the same day! :p

Fave jammies, a nice workout, and then a fabbo dinner!

Salmon

I was seriously missing Fish Tuesday, so I had to have some fish in my bellah.  Salmon!  Easy marinade in:

  • Teriyaki sauce
  • OJ
  • Dash of maple syrup
  • Dijon mustard
  • Chili powder
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper

Roasted for about 7 min at 400.

Veggies

Assorted roasted veggies!  Cauliflower, parsnips, and brussel sprouts.

Fish, rice, and veggies

All that with some red Himalayan rice.  We watched a bit of last night’s game while we ate.  There’s a whole lot of yummy love on that plate but I could not finish it all.  I tried very hard though! :D

Now I’m off to finish relaxing with some wine and maybe a massage!  Or chocolate.

Or both if it’s my lucky day!  Nite my pretties!

    • Sarah, If World Market started giving massages, I might end up with an addiction. :p

Heather, That’s what Scott says, it’s the texture!

Lauren, Salmon is one of my fave meals too. I just love it!

  1. Great day love! Nice hard workout too. I’m sure it felt great to kick the bag around for a little.

Dinner also looks quite scrumptious. Salmon is my favorite meal, hands down! :)

    Have a great weekend darlin!
    XoXo
