October 5th, 2009: Meh

Hi gang!  Wow but it has been a Monday for sure.  I’m currently counting down the hours till I can crawl in bed with my heating blanket and a mug of tea.

Stress reliever tea.  ‘Nuff said.

Last night Scott and I watched an old movie (Heather it was White Zombie with Bela Lugosi!) while snacking.

Wine and chocolate zucchini muffins

Heck yes I had two chocolate zucchini muffins! :D  We didn’t finish the movie though because I was passing out tired.  I hit the hay where I proceeded to have a fitful sleep.  Too hot then too cold then too hot. Ugh!

I got up around 8am which was about two hours too late it seems today.  I’ve been racing the clock ever since!  I had a leisurely breakfast.

Coffee and yogurt with fruit

Yogurt mess:

  • 2% Fage
  • Red Delicious
  • Homemade granola

With a mug of coffee.  I read and checked a few blogs and then I got started on my day.  First things first, I started a load of laundry.  Then I took Rocky out for his walk.  It was a glorious day today!  The sun was out and the sky was clear and the air was just slightly cool.  Amazing!

When I got back I started getting things in order.  I had a lot on my plate today and sadly not everything got taken care of.  Boo!  However I did manage to get all my SF items (we help our instructor out with school tasks) taken care of so that is something!  And that to-do list is clear at least for today!

Then I briefly talked with Robin from The Dispatch (local paper) about my KitchenAid stand mixer. :p  Perhaps I’ll be published?

After that I got busy with lunch which was quick and easy today!

Pineapple

Fresh pineapple that I could not stop munching on.

smoothie

Smoothie!

  • .5C Carrot juice
  • .5C Pom
  • 1C US cranberry juice
  • 1C Water
  • Kale
  • Frozen banana
  • Frozen peaches

Mmmm!

Veggies, eggs, bread

Snack plate:

  • Scrambled white eggs with chili garlic hot sauce (I’m looking at you Lawgirl! ;) )
  • Carrot and cucumber
  • Piece of multigrain flax bread

There are some slices of colby jack cheese on the plate but I ended up not eating those.

lunch

Yum yum!

After lunch was cleaning up the huge mess in the kitchen because Scott convinced me to not do dishes last night.  I totally regretted that decision! Thanks to Scott though because he did help me out by drying.

After that I was wrapping up my SF to-do items and dealing with work issues.  That’s where the “meh” comes in.

Eventually it was time for dinner.  Scott was having leftovers and that meant I was getting some Hugh Jass! :woohoo:

Salad

My Hugh Jass contained:

  • Mixed greens (chard didn’t look so good this week)
  • Chopped beets and carrot from yesterday’s dinner
  • Broccoli
  • Cucumber
  • Red onion
  • Banana peppers

Sprinkled with Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and ground pepper.  Topped with balsamic and oil.

Salad, crackers, and hummus

Some garlic hummus and crackers on the side.

MMM MMM!  I love me some Hugh Jass time!

And now guys, I’m off to read for a few minutes to try and decompress and relax before SF class.  Yes that’s right, I need to chill it before I go hit people with sticks. ;)  Till tomorrow!

  1. Sorry you’ve had one of those Mondays. I hate when my days are just not quite right. Everything just seems off balance, thus making me feel so out of whack. DOn’t worry, these days are only temporary, tomorrow will be much better for you! ;)
