October 18th, 2009: Sunday switch-up

Hi gang!  I had a wee snack last night as Scott recapped his evening to me.

pita with PB and tea

A WW pita with some PB and honey, and a mug of tea.  I was up way past my bedtime listening to my honey recount his party experience.  He had a great time though and that’s all that matters!

I slept in a little late today and therefore my run started late.  In the event you follow me on Twitter, I did not race today.  Apparently Tweet my Time seemed to think I started a race when I didn’t even cross the start line.  Not very efficient now is it?

I did do a six mile run this morning in the most glorious of weather.  It was cold, about freezing, 32F, but there was no wind and the sun was shining bright.  Oh my goodness it was so pretty that I was very thankful I had that chance to be out and running.  I wore a new hat which didn’t cover my ears enough so they got a bit chillz but other than that I was perfectly warm.

Chocolate soymilk

I drank down two huge glasses of CS and then it was back out with Rocky.  Since it wasn’t fierce cold out, walking him was no biggie.  Plus Scott and I had errands to run all day today (meh) so I would not have had a chance to do it later.  Once home, I stretched and hit the shower.

I woke up sleepy head and then immediately started making Sunday Breakfast.  I sipped on my first mug of coffee while breakfast was grooving.

apple with yogurt

We had pumpkin apples!  This was so good I couldn’t stand it.  Actually the whole Sunday Breakfast experience was amazing and I just loved every bite.

Pumpkin Apples

  • 2% Fage
  • Pumpkin puree
  • Maple syrup
  • Cinnamon, ground clove, allspice
  • Cubed apple of your choice (I did honeycrisp)

Mix and eat!

Scrambled eggs, english muffin, and sausage

There were scrambled eggs that were 2 eggs and then lots of egg whites.  I still had leftover spinach pesto so that went into the mix creating green and red flecked scrambled eggs.  They tasted so good!

Also an Ezek English Muffin with a bit of butter, and two chicken sausages.

Coffee, eggs, sausage, fruit, and english muffin

Along with a second mug of coffee.  LOVED IT!

After breakfast, Scott and I headed out to do our errands and it wore me right out.  However I did score a suitcase, backpack, and an outfit for a holiday party next month.  I have been having the hardest time finding black skirts.  What is up with that?!

We were out for a very long time.  By the time we got home I was starving and tired.

There was some cracker snacking (split with Scott) and some beer sipping.

Cheddar crackers Me

That’s a glorious oatmeal stout in that class.  The shirt and glass are from the bachelor party.

Beer

The boys visited a local brewery downtown, did a tour and then ate in the restaurant.  Our SF instructor (who was there because he put it together), upon hearing how jealous I was about the outing, got me a shirt.  I have the best kind of friends! :D

Then it was time for game food!  WOOT!

chicken wings

Chipotle and orange marinaded chicken wings.

Baked potato and baked beans

Baked potato with all the fixings.

  • Smidge of butter
  • Grill seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Shredded cheddar
  • Fage instead of sour cream

Baked beans I bumped up a bit by adding:

  • Red onion
  • Carrot
  • Cubanelle pepper

Mmmm mmmm!  It’s been a really long time since we have had a “loaded” baked potato and this was so freaking good!  We watched last night’s game as we ate.

Now I’m off to finish teh game, have a glass of wine and there perhaps might be some cookies in my future.  Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! :)

  1. Wow your Sunday both began AND ended with delicious meals! I love the pumpkin apples idea! :)

I had the hardest time finding a black skirt too, I finally bought one from Banana Republic a few weeks ago, literally it’s the first one I’ve owned in years.
