October 11th, 2009: Double dip

Hi my pretties!  Last night while watching the hockey game I had a mug of wonderful tea.  Mmm mmmm

Tea

I sipped on this as I watched the Pens school the Leafs on how to play some hockey. :D  Then I went to bed and super crashed out!

My alarm went off at 6:30am and I saw how dark it was outside. :O  I think my days of starting my runs before 7am are over for a while.  It’s just way too dark outside.  I don’t mind running in the dark when I know it’s going to be light soon but when there is still and hour plus of darkness left, um, no.  Since I’m running by myself, I’m not about to take unnecessary risks, you dig?

Chocolate soymilk

So it was going on 8am by the time I got out for a run and it was a gloriously chilly fall morning.  I had to wear my hoodie for extra warmth!  My run wasn’t quite so glorious though.  I wanted to crank out six miles but could only manage five.  I caught a cramp as I rounded a corner and it just would not go away.  There was an instance where it eased up but then came right back.  Gah!  So five miles it was, slow and steady too.  But you know, in the grand scheme of things, the important part is that I got out and did something.  I can live with that. :D  Because everything counts right?  Right!

I did walk Rocky this morning after my run and it was brrr brrr chillah!  I stretched and then took a very long hot shower to help warm me up.  By this time I needed something in the tum because it was starting to get angry.

Coffee, yogurt, granola

A huge mug of coffee (still working the soymilk) with some banilla yogurt, fruit and nut granola, and a few dark chocolate chips on top.  It’s Sunday, long run day, and quite frankly sometimes you just need to start the day off with some chocolate.

I munched on that while surfing and watching a little FoodTV.  I did more surfing than watchin’ though.

I also worked more on my multiple Gmail accounts getting them more organized.  It’s amazing how long that can take!

Then it was time for Sunday breakfast and I was totally ready!

Pancake and sausage

Pumpkin cider spelt pancakes (leftovers from last week, I pulled out of Siberia) with some chicken sausage.  This is the best way I can take a picture of sausage and make it still seem appetizing without it being all sausage in yo face!  There’s a time and place for that, and I’m sorry to tell you that my blog ain’t it.  You’ll have to get sausage face some place else (how much bizzare google hits will I get from this post?!).

Fruit and yogurt

More yogurt!  Which I’m down with and in fact told Scott while stuffing my face that I actually enjoy double yogurt day.  I should have more of in my life.  Yogurt with frozen blackberries. 1/2 a green apple, some protein oat bar crumbles (homemade), and ground flax.  YUM!

Drink

I asked Scott if he wanted a smoothie or a fall drink, and he picked fall drink!

Apple cider + cranberry juice + seltzer

Using Drankula cups!  (Hattip: Lovin’ Sarah)

Drink, pancake, sausage, and fruit

I dipped my pancakes in maple syrup and pretty much inhaled my breakfast.  It was yum yum!

After kitchen clean-up, I did laundry, some office stuff (invoices, yuck), some blog stuff and general crapola around the house day.

I had no clue what to make for dinner today.  I was uninspired and also lazy.  I didn’t feel like spending a lot of time in the kitch this evening.  I wanted to snuggle with my boys more!

Stuffed pepper

Rice redux!  Or actually rice take three.  I took last night’s rice side dish and stuffed it in some green peppers.  Topped with salsa and baked.  Put some pepperjack on last minute for melty delicious goodness.

Baked sweet potato

Baked sweet potato on the side with some buttah, and cinnamon sugar.

Stuffed pepper and baked sweet potato

Ta-da!  Easy Sunday Supper.  Yes that’s a lot of jack cheese going on and I’m totally not apologizing for it either.  It was an unadulterated cheesetastic moment of which I do not regret.

Now I’m off to relax on the couch with my loves!  I hope to cap the evening off with some wine and chocolate!   Tomorrow gang!
