September 3rd, 2009: Dragon Breath

Holy schnikies! This week and time is flying by a little too quickly for me and I feel like things are sort of slipping through my fingers. Eep!  It’s already the 3rd of September!

My half is next month!

I am leaving for SanFran in November!

Then it’s Christmas time!

Not to mention all the fun stuff in between like Halloween (I’ve got my costume, do you have yours?) and Thanksgiving.  And all the prepping for my trip.  Because for that I need:

  • Clothes.  I have no winter clothes. Period. Except for a jacket which will only get me so far.
  • A new suitcase.
  • To get my wedding ring resized.
  • A new laptop.
  • Extra camera battery.
  • Make and freeze food for Scott and Rocky to eat while I’m away so they will not perish.
  • Make a list for me.
  • Make a to-do list for Scott.  Yeah, he’s 32 but the man still needs some guidance.
  • Prep my multiple calendars so I know what the frack I’m doing.

Plus there’s work picking back up again and coming in full force right now.  And so many other things that like Whoa.  Okay.  Just Whoa.  I need to take deep breaths and chill it already.

Alright food!  Before leaving for the cooking class last night, I had a quick salad, with bacon! Gotta love it!

Salad

  • Mixed greens
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Peanuts
  • Cucumber
  • Crumbled sharp cheddar
  • Crumbled bacon

Mustard/balsamic/olive oil dressing on top.  Just something super simple to help quiet the tum.  I wasn’t sure if we would be eating or not or what was going on.  I had never been to a cooking class before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I had a blast!  And that’s all I’m telling you about it till I do my post. ;)

Naturally I can’t walk into Tehku without buying tea!  I bought three flavors and some Cinnamon-Peach-Ginger jam that Inggrie made.  Yes it is as awesome as it sounds!  It’s like Christmas!

Tea and a muffin with jelly

I had some stress reliever tea with a muffin I had made a few weeks ago and froze.  Whole wheat pastry flour, walnuts, cranberries, and cinnamon.  My little bedtime snack was perfect!  And it zonked me out.  That stress reliever tea?  Works wonders. I couldn’t even finish my mug because I was passing out on the couch.  So I headed up to bed and crashed it.  I didn’t wake up once and slept till my alarm went off this morning.

Get you some of that tea kids! And you can order online!

I took care of Rocks and by 6:30am I was out the door for my run.  It was still dark out but not completely dark.  Just starting to get light so I felt okay about running in it.  I was supposed to do 4miles today but only made it through 3.5.  Not because I was tired but because I needed to use the facilities like right now.  Oh those last few yards home were rough.  You can’t, or at least I can’t, pick up my pace because well there is the possiblity for disaster to strike.  And I really did not want that to happen at 7am on a Thursday morning all out in public like.  You dig?

I came home, took care of bidness and then took Rocky out for a walk.  Had I not been carrying a poop bag (It was Rocky’s! It was Rocky’s!) I would have jogged the last .5 miles very slowly back home with him.  But instead we just hoofed it quickly and added in a little extra distance.  I’m calling it good!  I cannot run/stop/run.  That just does not work for me at all.  Once I stop I am done.  To pick back up again and go, my body starts protesting.

The morning was another glorious one here in Cbus.  It was chilly and beautiful outside!  I showered and put on my comfy robe.  Then I got busy making breakfast because I was starving!

Coffee and oats

Oats, not fabbo, but they got the job done.  They were a little too liquidy for me this morning.  Blueberry with chocolate protein powder and a large scoop of PB!  Sounds weird but it was really yummers, along with coffee of course!

I inhaled that while checking mail and then I busted my hiney around the house for the rest of the morning and early afternoon.  I dusted, swiffered, and vacuumed the downstairs.  Then I did some food prep stuff, things for lunch and all the dinner prep.  Whew!  By that point it was time for lunch and I was hungry.

Salad

Salad!

  • Mixed greens
  • Cucumber
  • Shredded carrot and parsnip
  • Banana pepper
  • Tomato and garlic
  • Soynuts
  • Raisins

I had the tomatoes mixed with garlic and wow was it potent!  Wooo!  Salad topped with some red wine vinegar and olive oil.

Smoothie

Smoothie:

  • 1.5C US Cranberry juice
  • 1C OJ
  • .5C Water
  • Kale
  • 1 small beet
  • Carrot and parsnip ends
  • Frozen blackberries
  • Frozen blueberries

Purdy color!

Apple

And a red delicious!

Smoothie, salad, and apple

Lunch was cruising along and then the smoothie got way too gritty.  I don’t know what happened but Scott and I just couldn’t drink it.  I ended up having to strain it, leaving us with just juice.  The juice was nice but I wanted the fiberlicious filling too!

I cleaned up the kitchen and headed into the office to do some worky stuff.

I had to grab a quick snack before leaving for MT conditioning today.  Since I was missing all the fiber from the smoothie today, I was feeling a little empty.  I had a small bowl of cereal.

Cereal

Kashi blueberry oat crunch thing.  It was alright.  I think my cereal days might be done.

Class was kick-butt as always.  Then it was home for…

Pizza

Hooray Pizza Thursday!  I just made a regular white crust today (with unbleached AP flour).

Andrea’s Side:

  • Light on the pizza sauce
  • Chopped spinach
  • Light on the cheese (moz, and parm)
  • Shredded carrot
  • Chopped tomatoes and garlic (chopped toms in 2 grated garlic cloves. Hung out all day together!)
  • Red Onion
  • Chili garlic hot sauce

Scott’s Side:

  • Pizza sauce
  • Moz
  • Shredded carrot
  • Mushrooms
  • Spicy chicken Italian sausage
  • A bit of spinach and carrot
  • Buffalo sauce

Pizza

YUM!!!

Pizza

The crust was amazing!  Thick and chewy with a bit of crunch on the outside.  Heaven!  The marinated tomatoes were delish and now I have nice garlic dragon breath!

I kicked that plate and when back in and finished the other half slice.  YUM!  I was hungry today so I fed myself. :D

Now it’s wine time and soon dessert time!   See you tomorrow for the start of a long weekend.  Wheee!

  1. Wow! You’ve certainly got a full agenda. I don’t know how mine will be until classes start next week.

The in-laws arrived today for the long weekend so we moved up Pizza Thursday to yesterday – dinner this evening was enchiladas, which were almost as good!

    Love the his’n’hers pizza!

  2. Wow, just reading your list of upcoming events made me so excited for fall and the holiday season :) Then you had to go and eat out of Halloween-themed dishes. I love fall!

I haven’t made pizza at home in far too long. I will definitely need to put that on our “to make” list in the next week! Yum-o!

    Have a fab long weekend!

  3. I love that you lay everything out- it really makes it so much easier to plan ahead.

Cooking classes are the best! You definitely eat! Well at least the ones I’ve been to, and the food is always so great and its nice because you see exactly how it is made.

I love pizza night in your house! :)

    Take care hun!
