September 15th, 2009: Retail therapy

Hi guys!  Last night after SF, I crashed it in bed right away.  We got back a little late and busted out a quick walk with Rocky.  Then I read in bed and finished my book *sniffsniff* and zonked right out.

I got up at 6am today ready to run!  It was strange because I had no set agenda and just decided to do whatever.  During the run I kept flip-flopping on what distance I wanted to do.  3.5? 4? 4.5?  It was totally up to me!

At the last minute I decided just to do 2.5 and knock it out as fast as I could.  I wanted to be under 26 minutes and I made it!

2.5 miles in 25 minutes! :p  Had I decided earlier and not the last 1/4 what I was going to do, I think I could have even been faster. :D

Chocolate soymilk

A decent glass of CS later and I took Rocket out for his morning walk.  It was such a nice morning!  A little warmer and more humid, but still pretty fantastic.  Once back home it was time for a shower, waking up my loves, and making some breakfast.

Get in my bellah oaty oats!

Coffee and oats

1 peach and 1 nectarine today.  The color is off because I used chocolate protein powder this morning instead of vanilla.  Odd flavor but not shabby!  I polished that off and got busy doing some work.  A new project is coming in and I was working on getting that all set up and ready to go!

I also did some online browsing but no purchasing yet.  I need an armband for my iPhone and some earphones.  I have super tiny ears and earbuds just do not work for me.  I can’t even fit them in my ears.  If I shove them in there, they just pop out. :o  I have a very tiny head and even tinier ears!  I would like something that wraps around my ears so the earpiece just kind of sits in my ear.  Anyone have any suggestions for someone with wee ears?

That wore me out and I needed some raw love in my bod!

Salad

Salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Cucumber
  • Sliced grape tomatoes
  • Granola
  • Raisins

Simple and so good! The dressing was a total new concoction(at least for me!), small scoop of PB+Balsamic+Honey+Small dash of sesame oil  Crazy but totally delicious!

Smoothie

Smoothie:

  • 1C SO Delicious coconut milk
  • 1C OJ
  • 1C US cranberry juice
  • Kale
  • Carrot and parsnip (1/2 of each)
  • Frozen banana
  • Frozen mango

Frozen bananas make the smoothie so much better!  Very creamy smooth and no gritty stuff.  I just don’t want to OD on bananas so I don’t use them all the time.  Can you OD on bananas?

Hummus and crackers

Crackers with carmelized onion hummus.  OH YES! With a drizzle of hot sauce.

Fruit

Pineapple, minneola, and  Strawberries (for Scott).

Smoothie, salad, fruit, hummus and crackers

The hummus was new and it’s awesome!  It takes like French onion dip!  Just, you know, more healthy. And to test it, I did dip a baked chip into the hummus and it works like a beaut as dip!  Score!

Scott is building hisself a new computer and a lot of the parts arrived today.  The only thing he needed was a case which he planned on purchasing at MicroCenter.  I mentioned that I needed to go shopping because we have a wedding next month and I needed a dress + shoes for it.  We came to the decision that he would drop me off to shop while he went and got his computer fix.

I went immediately to Filene’s Basement!  Best store for finding a dress because they have loads of them!  I spent hours in that store, I don’t know if Scott went home and then came to get me or what because I was in there a long ass time.  And I still didn’t even get to look at everything I wanted to look at!  I need to go back.  And check out TJMaxx as well.  Lawgirl, wanna have a shopping day with me? If you drive, I will buy lunch! :D

But check it,  I did walk away with THREE dresses!  Two potential ones to wear to the wedding and one smoking hot dress to wear when Scott takes me out someplace fancypants.  I found shoes on sale, got a pair of socks with glitter skulls, and found a fantastic shirt that I cannot wait to wear! It is an instant fave!

I need help deciding which dress to wear so you all are going to have to help me pick!  Deal?

Alright, when we got back home, it was time for some dinner because Scott was a starvin’.  It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means!

Tilapia

Gotta love the fish!  Tilapia with some teriyaki sauce, hot sauce and chili powder.  Baked at 400 for about 7 minutes.

Roasted eggplant and brussel sprouts

Roasted eggplant and brussel sprouts.

  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • S&P
  • Garlic powder

400 for about 15 minutes.

Fish and roasted veggies

Ta-da!

If you’re curious, there was no MT tonight for us.  I went and done busted up my right hand!  Last night at SF class we did some punching pad work.  Well in SF we don’t have wraps or gloves, it’s bare knuckle bidness in there.  I went a little girl power and my right hand is a bit bruised and swollen.  Too bruised to put on wraps, gloves, and get down at MT.  So this sister had to take the night off!  Alright friends, I’m off to kick it in bed.  Till tomorrow!

  1. Oh my gosh, I have the SMALLEST ears too!!! I can’t wear ear buds either but I have yet to find a really good pair of earphone. Let me know what you find because I have been searching for a really good pair for ages now!

  2. Retail therapy is such great therapy, but I have to give you props in that I don’t usually have the patience to wade through those racks for the good finds (Nordstrom Rack is pretty popular over here).

I have to use the earphones where the narrower bud goes into the ear canal b/c the ones that just sit there would fall out for me.
