August 2nd, 2009: Get stuffed

It probably doesn’t surprise you that since we missed lunch yesterday, a few hours after dinner we were both hungry again.  I was more hungry than Scott which makes sense because he had more dinner than I did.    A quick no-fail comfort food that I turn to when I need something fast, filling, and tasty is:

Pita with PB and frozen grapes

A whole wheat pita toasted, and topped with PB and honey.  Even the smell of the pita toasting starts my mouth watering.  I also had that with some frozen grapes because A did not have enough rawness yesterday.  Scott sipped on an oatmeal stout and I had a couple of sips.  Not too much because I’m in official 1/2 training mode.  Sundays are my long runs so I try not to have anything to drink Saturday night.  I can do a couple sips of beer without it affecting my run, anything else and I know my run won’t be as good Sunday morning.  Now of course if we’re out or something special falls on a Saturday, I might have a glass of wine or so.  Gotta still live life! :D

This morning I got my butt up and out of bed by 7am.  I was out the door for my run by 7:30.  I told myself that my days of a 12min pace are over starting today.  I’ve got my training schedule and since I just raced under a 12min pace then I know I can do that.  I totally pushed myself today and picked up the speed.  I finished my run in 46 minutes.  Oh yeah!  I was a sweaty hot mess afterwards and it felt awesome.  Also wore my new kicks and they were fabbo.

Chocolate soymilk

Slammed a glass of CS and then took Rocky out for his walk.  Once home, I stretched and changed and had some much needed coffee and fuel.

Coffee, yogurt, and granola

We are out of my favorite granola so I had to have some backup granola this morning in yogurt.  It’s not as good and if you can believe it, got soggy in the yogurt. :yuck:  It was a maple granola + 2% fage + cranberries.  Blech!

Then I chilled and read a few blogs.

Scott got up and I told him I was starting breakfast because I wanted to stuff my face.  I was hungry and this girl wanted to EAT!  I made a big honkin’ Sunday breakfast too!

Scrambled eggs with veggies

Scrambled eggs:

  • 2 eggs
  • Egg whites (no clue how much, I just dumped some in the bowl)
  • Red onion
  • Green pepper
  • Carrot
  • Leftover sweet potato fries from Friday

Topped with chili garlic hot sauce!

Watermelon and cantaloupe

More melons!

Toast

Toast (oatmeal and 12 grain) with buttah.

Chicken breakfast sausage

Chicken breakfast sausage.

Smoothie

Smoothie!!

  • 1.5C US cranberry juice
  • Pineapple juice (rest of a small can)
  • .5C OJ
  • .5C Water
  • Kale
  • Carrot and parsnip
  • Banana
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Frozen blueberries

YUM!!

Smoothie, eggs, sausage, and fruit

And all together now.  I had 1 toast half, all my smoothie and some watermelon.  Most of the eggs and 1 sausage link.  It might not seem like much but I was stuffed afterwards.  There was leftover eggs so I may sneak a bite before we head out. :D

Scott’s out mowing and I hope he finishes up soon because we’re supposed to be heading out to the Dublin Irish Festival!  I got a free ticket in the race packet, so all we have to do is buy his.  I hope he wraps it up quickly so we can go, go, go!  I’m already dressed and did mah hairs so if we can’t make it to the festival we’re going out somewhere.  Not letting hard work go to waste!
