August 22nd, 2009: production

Hey gang!  I got up this morning around 7ish and I was dragging.  Oh goodness but I wanted to stay in bed, but you know I didn’t.  I got up and took care of Rocks and then poured myself some coffee.  I’m not even going to show you a pic because I didn’t finish it.  Didn’t even make it half way through before bailing, it was just bad.  I decided to whip out this.

Walnut crunch tea

Walnut Crunch tea from Tehku!  I tried this tea at a Tehku event and loved it.  When I was in yesterday, I knew that I had to pick some up super quick.

Tea

I used my little teapot and drank the tea from my Tehku mug.  I added a splash of cream for extra gloriousness and it was so mighty fine.  Then I made some breakfast.

Tea and yogurt

Mmmmm

  • 2% Fage
  • Granola
  • Blackberries
  • Frozen raspberries
  • Cranberries

So so good! While inhaling my breakfast, Scott worked on Frankenstein.

Scott

And we also discussed our day.  We decided against MT today in favor of getting some stuff done that needs a doin’.  After breakfast I busted my hiney in the kitch for a bit.  I took care of all my blackberries.

Blackberries

2 pints I kept out for yogurt and general eating.  One pint got put aside to make sauce with, and all the other pints went into freezer baggies and found a home in my 2nd fridge’s freezer.

Granola, powerbars, blackberry sauce

Then I busted out and made some granola, granola bars, and the blackberry sauce.  Oh yeah!  Then it was time to sit down to some lunchie.  Slim pickin’s at the HQ because I am out of greens and salad stuff.  Booo!

Carrot, cucumber, and cauliflower

I had an appetizer plate, as Scott likes to call them.  Carrot, cucumber, and cauliflower.

Watermelon

Watermelon.

Guacamole

Quick guac for chips and my veggies.

Ramon noodles

And a small bowl of the ramon soup.  I told you it was good!

Veggies, watermelon, guacamole

Lunch was yumms!  Those are FoodShouldTasteGood chips for dipping. I only had a few of those.

Once the kitchen was cleaned up, we headed out to run errands.  First stop was Bed, Bath, and Beyond so I could take a gander at some juicers.  Yeah I said it.  I’ve decided that I want one but will get a better blender first, then a juicer at another point in time.  I also looked at waffle makers and panini presses because those are also on my list of “needs”. ;)

Then it was off to Sam’s where I scored a much nicer batch of mixed greens.  I did have to go digging though to find some but 10 minutes later I reemerged victorious!  Other quickie items and then right over to Meijer for veggies.  And I loaded my cart up too.  Two huge batches of kale, spin, yellow mels (to be revealed soon!), and loads of other veggies.  The cashier recognized us and I was happy because I like her.  Shout out to you Marty! She doesn’t flinch when we give her totes to use.  Some other cashiers look at me funny when I hand them bags but Marty rolls with it like a pro!  As we were walking out of the store I was singing, “I got Veggies!” sung to the tune of “I want candy!”  Rock it!

Chips

When we got back home, I quickly put stuff away and then took care of Rocky loves.  Then it was time for our dinner!  While I made dinner, I snacked on some for real chips.  Kettle Brand salt and pepper. :D

Dinner bell!  Hello Seafood Saturday night.

Shrimp

There was shrimp and scallops.  Both sauteed up in a little olive oil with some sea salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.

Roasted cauliflower

Roasted cauliflower and zucchini.  This was my first time roasting cauliflower.  A little olive oil, S&P, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, chili powder and a hint of soy sauce.  Roasted at 400 for about 10 minutes.

Polenta

Cheesy pepperjack polenta (I made).

Roasted green beans

Roasted green beans. Olive oil with some rosemary and garlic seasoning.  400 for about 7 minutes.

Veggies, seafood, and polenta

Delicious!  In the back is some homemade cocktail sauce that was extra spicy today and the most perfect version I’ve made so far.  Sorry for the lack of some closeups, my camera kept fogging up because the food was piping hot!

Now this sister is off to bed to read for a bit and then conk out early so I’m rested for my run tomorrow.  I’m wearing the craziest jammie combo, a pair of purple jammie pants with pink flowers paired with a camo tee-shirt.  Sexah!  Till tomorrow loves!

  1. I was so close to making Granola Bars yesterday too! I have a mix that my friend gave me and I have been meaning to try it. She even included a jar of homemade balckberry perserves to go on top! Ah, needless to say, it didn’t happen for me, but after seeing yours, I am totally regretting not making them.

Maybe today, I will find the time to whip some together.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend love!
