August 17th, 2009: carblicious

Hi guys!  It’s Monday and really, isn’t that enough said?

I woke up at 7am this morning and got right to bidness.  That would be pouring some coffee.

Coffee

Today wasn’t a fantastic coffee day.  Not that it tasted bad just sort of maybe like I didn’t really want it and I was having it just because.  I did some stuffs and some other stuffs.  Then I finally convinced myself to do some strength moves.  According to my training schedule, Mondays are strength and stretch days.

I did lunges and squats holding 10lbs (2-5lb dumbbells).  I also did shoulder raises, bicep curls, and kickbacks with the weights.  I then did some calf raises on the stairs, two 30 second planks and called it a day!  Scott and I are going to do some yoga later this evening and that will be my stretch for the day.  I did do a small bit of stretching after the strength though for injury prevention.

After that I showered and finally had myself some breakfast.

apple, yogurt, and granola

As much as I love oats and oatbran, I must admit that I do really dig on apple + yogurt + granola.  It’s so good!  I also added a small amount of maple syrup for extra kicks.

Rocks and I headed out for a short walk around the block because it was balls hot outside.  Then I did a bit more things around the house including laundry and taking some business calls.  The excitment doesn’t stop! ;)

Scott mentioned he was hungry and I got lunch pulled together.  I wasn’t feeling the salad today but am still on the carb kick thanks to Pre-Queen Time and since I don’t really eat a ton of carbs I decided to just go with it.

crackers, carrots, cucumbers, and hummus

Small snack plate of carrot, cucumber, and whole wheat crackers with hummus.  Chili garlic sauce on top.

Smoothie, veggies, crackers, and fruit

I don’t know why my smoothies have been coming out such a strange color lately but I assure you they are not gross tasting but fabbo!

Now I’ve got some worky stuff to take care of and other notes to do so I’m off for a bit.  Catch you for dins!
