August 15th, 2009: date night

Hi guys!  I had a glorious sleep last night and was up with the geese at 7am this morning.  I say that because they were flying overhead and woke me up.  At first I was confused and thought my alarm was going off! :p

I poured some coffee and headed into the office.

Mug of coffee

I accidentally poured too much creamer but was too lazy to pour it back so I drank it.  Result was heavenly creamy coffee!  Mmmm  I published last night’s dinner post and then I started watching the Live Feed of the Healthy Living Summit.  They were panning the audience and I saw Rose!  I texted her right away to let her know that I spotted her. :D  I was watching and keeping up with the twitterings.  Oh some of you are totally some funny peeps out there!

I made breakfast with the summit in the background.

Peach oats

You know it!  Big huge bowl of oats with a peach and a nectarine.  Go baby!  I watched some more and then during a break got my stuff together for MT class.  And then I had to leave.  Awww  I don’t know what all I’ve missed but I bet it was a bunch of stuff.  It would be cool if the segments were broken up and available for download or to watch later. :D

Scott and I had to run some errands after MT and then it was home for lunch because this sister was starving!  I just wanted something small and light because we are heading out later this evening and I’ll have another munchie then.

Watermelon, cantaloupe, flax chips

Melons!

Smoothie

Smoothie!

  • 1.5C US cranberry juice
  • 1C pineapple juice
  • .5C water
  • Kale
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 parsnip
  • 2 fresh figs
  • 2 prunes
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen mango

Not a pretty color but fantastic tasting!

Pizza

Also two small pieces of leftover pizza.  Whooo!

Smoothie, pizza, fruit, and chips

With a small amount of flax chips and guacamole.  Scott had leftover Chinese food.

Guys, here’s the thing.  If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that I strive to have a raw lunch.  It’s what makes me feel the best and what my body craves.   Anyway, today I thought, “Okay I’ll be fine with the fresh fruit and the smoothie.  The pizza is quick and veggie loaded.  That’s cool.”

Totally not cool.  I had one slice of the pizza (and the slices on my side are small) and I could barely eat that. It was not happening.  I ate it but then just focused on the fruit and smoothie.  I had a few chips and guacamole.  I had one shrimp and 1/2 a scallop from Scott’s dish.  Those things were fine, the pizza is too heavy and I just couldn’t do it.  So there it is, I have to stick with fresh.

Listening and learning about my body is a constant and I think that’s a key thing for all of us to remember as we pursue different and more healthier paths.

No worries I’ll get that salad later! :D

Scott and I are going to see Cirque de Soleil tonight!  Whoooo!!!  I’m so excited!  I love going out with him and having a chance to dress up a little bit. :swingdance:
