August 11th, 2009: pasty white butt

Anyone else trying to rush the week?  I keep thinking it’s Wednesday today.  Doh!  Last night after SF class, I walked Rocks then put on jammies and jumped right into bed.  I’m trying to make this my new routine so I can get relaxed and get to sleep sooner!  It was before 11pm and I crashed out.

My alarm went off at 6am and I decided to give myself another 1/2 hour.  Plus it was dark outside! :o  I got up at 6:30, took care of Rocky and headed out for my run.  A short one today, 3.5 miles.  In the crazy humidity!  I got to wear my new running shorts again though which was nice.  They are Nike shorts and I guess I really shouldn’t be too surprised that I like them because all Nike gear I’ve bought for running I have loved!

Chocolate soymilk

I ran my 3.5 miles at a 10:30 pace!!  GO ME!  I was pretty surprised by that actually and I hope it’s not a fluke.  I had a glass of CS and back out the door with Rocky-love.

Home, stretched, showered, and then it was time for breakfast.  My favorite flavor ever!

Coffee and oatmeal

Oats with fresh peaches and nectarines cooked in!  It tastes just like peaches and cream to me and I love love love this bowl of oats.  I also scored some more ground flax so I was able to add that today too.  Whooo!  And some coffee to go with it.

I’ve mentioned before that I eat a bigger breakfast and sometimes a bigger lunch than Scott does. Scott’s biggest meal is dinner which is my smallest meal.  For documentation purposes and in the event you didn’t believe me, I took a picture of our oatmeal bowls this morning.

His and hers oatmeal

Scott’s is on the left and mine is on the right.  You can see that I have a huge honkin’ bowl of oats while Scott has his mini bowl. :D

I checked in with some of your blogs and whoa what’s with all the haters this week, eh?  Goodness!!  If you like comedy, Kat Williams has a great bit on Haters and it’s their job to hate.  They don’t hate you, they hate anything that’s good and doesn’t happen to them.  His hater bit is awesome, so hit up some YouTube and check it out! :D

I did bloggy and worky stuff.  I went through all my pics from our retreat weekend and get ready because that post is going to be huge.  You’ve been warned!

After all that, this sister needed to get some lunch.

Salad

Andrea salad, all dressed up:

  • Mixed greens
  • Shredded carrot and parsnip
  • Cucumber
  • Raisins
  • Chopped dried apricots
  • Sliced almonds
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Goat cheese (!!)

Dressed with a mustard maple balsamic dressing (homemade of course, added after the pic).

Smoothie

Smoothie!

  • 1C OJ
  • 1C carrot juice
  • .5C POM
  • .5C US cranberry juice
  • Kale
  • Parsnip
  • 1/2 beet
  • 3 fresh figs
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen blueberries

This smoothie was fantastic!  Loved the carrot juice addition and the flavor it gave the smoothie.

Crackers

Crackers for the HumTub.

Smoothie, salad, and hummus

My eyes were bigger than my bellah today (I usually say, “My eyes were bigger than my head” which cracks Scott up) and I didn’t finish my salad but it was glorious.  The goat cheese got all soft melty from the dressing and it covered the salad with tangy goodness.

I made Scott a breakfast burrito for lunch today and it was my best wrap to date!  Check it!

Breakfast burrito Perfectly wrapped!  Score!

Burrito butt

And some white-ass burrito butt just for E! :D

Alright guys I have to jet and get working on this retreat post.  That’s why there’s no Tip today because I need the time to work on this post.  Hefty!  Catch ya laters for dinner.

  1. OMG peaches cooked in oatmeal is TDF! It’s like a sweet bowl of peach cobbler for breakfast.

Okay, think this will be making its way into my belly soon after drooling over yours.

My breakfasts and lunches are usually larger than hubbys too! Probably why he is always so ravenous for a big dinner and I’m just not that hungry in the evening. But in my defense, working out in the morning leads to crazy hunger throughout the day. Am i right?! :)

  2. LOL, pasty white butt! I’ve never had peaches in oatmeal–sounds like a hit. Great job on your running pace!! Lately I’m lovin’ the raw pepitas–salads, oatmeal, cereal, snacking, and I’m even thinking of making a “hummus” out of them, too.
