July 30th, 2009: Race Day gear up!

Hi lovelies!  Ever have one of those days where it seems like you can’t connect with other people because they act like you are speaking a foreign language?  And it makes you want to smack your head on your desk?  Yeah, I had that yesterday.

Anyway! On to better things!  Dinner last night was leftovers.

Salad, guacamole, enchilada

Leftover salad from lunch (You didn’t think I would throw it away did you? ;) )and leftover veggie enchilada which apparently had a run-in with the ugly stick while I had my back turned.  I have no idea what happened, I found it like this.  And in the middle quick guacamole which is really just mashed up avocado, S&P, garlic powder, and lots of chili garlic hot sauce.  YUM!  With FoodShouldTasteGood (great chips, poor name!) multigrain chips that I adore.  I can’t even eat regular tortilla chips anymore because these have such great flavor, everything else is bland.

After SF class, I went straight to bed with some seltzer and my book.  I read for about 1/2 an hour and called lights out at 11:30pm.  I had hoped to get to bed earlier but that was not to happen.

I planned on getting up at 6am and set my alarm accordingly.  But my body had different plans and my alarm was going off for 20 minutes before I even heard it. :O

I took care of Rocks, poured some coffee.

Coffee

And started work.  I finished the project and sent that in along with my invoice.  :woohoo:  A great hot shower later it was time for breakfast and I was a Starvin’ A at that point.

Oatbran

A huge bowl of oatbran! Minus the ground flax because I’m out.  Boo!  Topped with some blueberry rhubarb sauce and vanilla almond butter.  This was a great breakfast!  Totally filling, creamy, and delicious!

After breakfast, I took Rocky out for a quick walk and then came back home and sat down for a minute.  That is when I realized that I apparently am a hungry beast this morning.  It was 11:30am and I was already hungry for lunch complete with tummy grumbles.  I just had that gigantic bowl of oatbran at 9:30am. :o  As much as I love oats and oatbran they are not long last for me unless I use a ton of mix-ins.  Which is what I’ll do when I know I won’t have lunch early or at my normal time.  Regular week though I have cut down the mix-ins greatly.  Before when I first started eating oats and oatbran, I had a ton of mix-ins.  Now not so much.  It’s amazing how one changes and grows in terms of eating habits.  So cool and interesting! :D

That long winded story to say I made lunch!

Can you believe I forgot to take a picture of my smoothie and a whole lunch shot?!  My brain is on the race guys, that’s all I can say.  Boo on me though!

And now I’m off to putz around while waiting for race time to start.  My first experience with an evening race and it’s a little odd! :D

Rose asked a fabbo question about portion control in my last post and instead of creating a gigantic reply in the comments, I thought I would address it in a future post.  Hopefully tomorrow’s eats.  Coolio with you Rose? :D

  1. boo no flax! Haha I find it so funny that I get bummed out when I don’t have it, or I go on vacay and it’s just not convenient- If you asked me a year ago if I would be lamenting the lack of flax in my life…I would have looked at u like a crazy :D
