July 28th, 2009: Run away

Hi guys!  Time got away from me yesterday and I never had a chance to catch up and post.  Bah!  That makes me a little crazy in the head sometimes when that happens.

First we must backtrack all the way to Monday night!  After SF, I wanted a snack.

Banana ice cream

Banana soft serve! Which was actually not so soft serve and more like hand-churned hard packed ice cream.  I had made this combo on Sunday evening but the bananas weren’t frozen hard enough and the texture didn’t turn out right.  I put it in the freezer for another day.  It’s bananas mixed with some of the rhubarb and blueberry sauce.  Mmmmm

Prunes

I also had two prunes before the soft serve hit the bowl.  Wait, what?

Then at 10:30 I hit the hay and got up bright and shiny at 6:30 the next morning.  I debated on a run yesterday and I can’t even remember why!  I ended up going out because I reminded myself that I might not run Wednesday, the day before the race.  I needed to get a run in!  I ran another slow as molasses four miles but felt awesome afterwards so score!

Chocolate soymilk

One glass of CS down and I was out for Rocky’s walk.  Came home, stretched, showered, and made some breakfast.

Coffee and oatmeal

Oats! Same as yesterday with the rhubarb blueberry sauce (I’m using it on everything!) and a small spoonful of vanilla AB.  So good!  And coffee of course!  Then it was time for me to get dressed and head out to get my hairs cut.  YaY!  I’m trying to grow my hair out so I can pull it back into a pony tail.  It’s got length on it but it is slow going.

Quick run to WF for a few things and some lunch stuff, and then finally back home!

Salad and sushi

Lunch was salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Shredded carrot and parsnip
  • Cucumber
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Raisins

With fig balsamic and olive oil.

On the side was sweet and spicy vegan sushi with brown rice! I had to ask for it though because I don’t think they make it any longer. Which is odd because it’s really good and vegans eat sushi too!  I had three pieces.  After lunch and kitchen clean up, I made a smoothie!

Smoothie

  • 1C unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1C pineapple juice
  • 1C water
  • Kale
  • Carrot and parsnip
  • Cucumber
  • Beets
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen blueberries

So good! Although this blender doesn’t like the kale so much and I had to coax it twice to get it to blend properly.  It kept shoving all the food to the top and just blending the juices at the bottom. :twitch:

After that we had to bust it over to MT. Whew!  Where we worked and sweated and all that fun stuff.  When we got back home I was starving! A quick walk for Rocky and a shower later I was able to sit down to some eats.

Fish, asparagus, tomatoes, and rice

I wanted fish and decided to save enchilada leftovers for another day.  Tilapia baked in the oven at 400 and topped with a mixture of chili garlic sauce, mustard, and spices.  It was awesome!  Roasted asparagus and grape tomatoes on the side with some jasmine rice.  I didn’t eat much of the rice because after a bit I realized it wasn’t what I wanted at all.  I just ate my fish and veggies.

However that wasn’t quite enough food for me and later I had a snack.

Apple and cheese

An apple and a slice of asiago cheese.  I shared this plate with Scott.  The cheese is awesome!  And again at 10:30 it was bedtime!
