July 17th, 2009: Use your noggin

Hi guys!  I enjoyed this:

Wine

While I stayed up way too late kicking it with some Pulp Fiction. “Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face.”  Just talking about it cracks me up.  I have a tremendously twisted sense of humor so movies like Pulp Fiction and Fargo make me laugh. :D  I know they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I dig ’em.

Because I got to bed so late, I was having Pulp Fiction type dreams which were just way too action packed for that time of day.  I eventually dragged my butt outta bed at 8am today, took care of Rocky and did some yoga.  My legs told me that running was out of the question.  I did Morning Flow this morning and hated it.  UGH with the backbends that early in the day. Oh well, it did get me moving and I did feel better afterwards.  I prefer more leg and hip stretching in yoga not gymnastics.

After stretching, I woke up Scott and then made some breakfast.

Coffee and yogurt

Hooray for repeats!  This time with two nectarines because we’re getting crazy up in harre!  Some 2% Fage and fruit and nut granola with a very happening cup of coffee.  My morning was boring.  Not to me of course but for storytelling purposes it’s pretty boring.  I read blogs and did officey stuff.  You know, emails and all that stuff.  I also started listening to Jillian’s podcast from Sunday.  I’m only halfway through it but it’s awesome.  The message in the beginning about not being afraid to be great and the best person you can be?

Whoa, some heavy shit right there.  Love it!

Then I cleaned the house and made some lunch.  I am out of mixed greens for salad.  I know, I gasped too when I realized it.  I decided that it was time to get creative.  You know and I know (by now) that I like to keep things raw at lunch time.  Well maybe you haven’t noticed but I try to stick with raw things at lunch and then have cooked whatevers at dinner.  I feel the best when I follow a schedule of grains, raw, and then cooked for my meals.

While not every single thing is raw in this lunch, I did a pretty damn good job and I was happy. :D

Taco with cabbage, carrot, and zucchini

Taco!

Shredded cabbage, carrot, and zucchini tossed in some salsa and black eye peas added for protein and texture.  In a basic yellow-corn tortilla.

Watermelon and cantaloupe

Melon time!

Smoothie

Crazy smoothie!

  • 1.5C unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1C OJ
  • .5C water
  • Spinach
  • Carrot
  • Zucchini
  • Beet
  • Banana
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen pineapple

Smoothie, taco, and fruit

Lunch was pretty fantastic!  I was left full but not weighted down and feeling heavy or bloated.  Hooray for getting creative!

I have no idea what the rest of the day holds.  I was going to run Rocks out for a walk quick but it started thundering and raining.  We also had plans to possibly head out to dinner but none of the places we were going to hit up seem to have things either of us want to eat.  Hrmmm decisions!
