June 7th, 2009: Summer Time

Hi lovlies!  I absolutely love Sunday mornings and getting up early on Sunday is so rewarding.  I bounded out of bed this morning ready to tackle the day.  After getting Rocks taken care of it, I changed into running clothes and busted out the door.

Chocolate soymilk

I did 2.5 miles today and it was beautiful.  The sun was shining and it was just starting to get warm outside.  It was quiet because no one was out yet which made for a very peaceful and relaxing run.  The back of my knee felt a little tight but nothing that interfered with my running or my stride.

When I got back home, I slammed two glasses of CS and then headed back out with Rocky to get his walk done before it got too hot.  I’m glad that the weather changed and it’s starting to get warmer again.  We had some chilly preSpring like weather there for a while and I just wasn’t digging it.  In June it’s not supposed to be in the 50s.  Eeep!  Makes me think that come October we’re still going to be seeing some supa hot weather.

After Rocks and I got back home, I hit the showers and made a quick breakfast.

Mug of coffee and bowl of yogurt and granola

Yogurt and granola!  Chocolate granola and a few dark chocolate chips.  Who says you can’t have chocolate for breakfast? :D  With some coffee.

It wasn’t long after I ate that Scott got up.  I had a bit more coffee and started contemplating on what to do about breakfast/lunch.  We’re doing some SF training today and other chores, so we need something that’s going to go the distance.  I also needed some fresh raw veggies so I put together a simple salad.

Salad

  • Mixed greens
  • Spinach
  • Shredded beet, golden beet, and parsnip
  • Cucumber
  • Broccoli
  • Raisins (just in mine)
  • Crumbled turkey bacon

Topped with some homemade honey mustard dressing.

Hardboiled eggs

Hardboiled eggs on the side.

Cantaloupe and strawberries

And of course fruit!  Cantaloupe and strawberries (for Scott).

Salad, fruit, hardboiled eggs

I didn’t clean house but close!  I only had one quarter slice of egg though, most of the salad, and put a good dent in the fruit.  Yum!  I’m fully recovered from the Bang Bang incident and feeling fine!  Off to train with the hubs and then relax the rest of the day.  Hope you all are having a great weekend!
