Hi guys! SF class didn’t keep us too late last night and I was on the couch just before 10pm. Score! I pulled out a snack.
2 prunes and a small bowl of frozen grapes. I ate the prunes and walked the grapes over to the couch. I was reading until Scott came down and during that time I realized the prunes were enough and I wasn’t too hungry. Back in the freezer went the grapes! Some other day my lovelies I will come back for you! And then I went to bed at the most glorious time of 10:30pm.
If my love for prunes and Antiques Roadshow didn’t do it, then going to bed super early should seal my grandma status.
I got up at the early time of 6am (it’s early to me, I don’t want to hear it from you 5am risers!) and took care of Rocks in a bleary-eyed sleepy state. It was cool, cool outside. So cool that I actually needed pants for my run this morning. I should have put on a long-sleeved shirt too because I was cold!
Do you know what didn’t help warm me up at all?
The rain. Oh yeah, as I was heading home it started down pouring outside. Not a lovely warm summertime shower but a cold and very wet situation. Had it been warm rain I would have endured but since it was cold causing me to shiver, I cut my run short and headed home. I probably did 3 miles or just over 3 but not quite 3.5.
When I busted back inside, I apologized to Rocks because he would have to wait for his walk. He got all huffy and headed back to his bed. I dried off, stretched, and put on some comfy clothes. Then I poured myself a steaming mug of coffee.
Perfect! I read some blogs and also started finalizing Anniversary prep.
That’s the message that has been on the fridge this week. Scott made it. I’m getting super excited about our vactaion time! I finally got hungry and after waking up Scott, made us some breakfast.
Lack of bananas is starting to make me a bit cranky-pants. Oats and oatbran have less volume sans banana and I have to use a pinch of brown sugar for sweetness, again due to missing banana. Today was a blueberry oatbran day!
- 1 1/4C Vanilla Soymilk
- 1/3C oatbran
- Pinch brown sugar
- Pinch cinnamon
- Blueberries
- 1TBSP ground flax
- 1 scoop vanilla whey powder
With mix-ins! Pecans, coconut, and a small spoon of vanilla almond butter. Oatbran was wonderful today! I had missed it! I also had another mug of coffee with breakfast.
After breakfast it was more prep and then I got Rocky out for his walk. Because you know, not 10minutes after I got caught in a down pour the sun came out and everything cleared up.
After the walk it was back to prep! Mostly it’s me researching specific things and planning out destinations. None of which Scott knows about except for one thing. Ooooo the suspense!
Then I made some lunch!
Salad, of course:
- Mixed greens
- Chopped beet
- Corn
- Peas
- Sunflower seeds
- Crushed homemade croutons
I made the mustard-red wine vinegar dressing again per Scott’s request. It was fabbo and perfect on the salad!
Smoothtastic:
Splash of vanilla soymilk (to finish up a container)
- 1.5C OJ
- .5C POM
- 1C Water
- Spinach
- Frozen pineapple
- Frozen peaches
- Frozen blueberries
This smoothie tasted like rainbow sherbet!
Crackers for hummus dippin’.
I. Loved. This. Lunch! It was so perfect and the perfect portions of everything. So good! Our frozen fruit quantity has reached emergency level. I’m thinking that I’m going to have to hit the store tomorrow. I don’t think I can wait till Thursday or Friday. Friday would probably be too busy with The 4th craziness anyway now that I think about it.
After lunch I made dinner and then cleaned up the kitchen. Now after MT class, all I will have to do is heat it up. Easy and minimal dishes!

Granny should take the bus down to the market for some nanners.
oh i think i have some POM to use, so thanks for the idea!!
can’t wait to see where granny goes for vacation
I know, oats just aren’t the same without naners. That’s why I’m constantly keeping some frozen in the freezer so I’m never without….
Ooo I hate when outdoor workouts are put on hold by rain! Weather can be such a downer!
Love that smoothie!
Jenny, I was totally soaked by the time I got home too. Thankfully it was towards the end of the run!
Oats without bananas feel so empty! It’s amazing how much the banana adds to the oatmeal. Sorry about the icky weather cutting your run short. I hate when that happens!
