Hi guys! It has been hellah crazy today at the HQ.  And it’s only going to get crazier starting tomorrow.  I may have to do full day recaps till Sunday, y’all cool with that?

Today started off not so early but still groggy.  I woke up at 5:30am and it took me forever to fall back asleep. I kept thinking about all the tons of things we had to do and was getting a bit overwhelmed.  I fell asleep at some point and woke up at 8am.  I got Rocky taken care of and it was really warm outside.  I could tell rain was on the way.

I had morning coffee.

While putzing around on the computer and the house.  Then I woke Scott up and made some breakfast.

Fiber

Fiber

Hello oatbran!  I missed you!  Basic oatbran with the goodness of ground flax and vanilla protein powder.  Mix-ins were cashew butter and some walnuts.

The morning was spent getting the house organized because we are having company!  Totally last minute but hopefully she’ll find her stay comfy!  For those in the WordPress arena, there is a local WordCamp this weekend.  Lorelle is here to attend and give a talk.  Starting tomorrow, she’ll be staying with us! :D  But of course I’ve been rushing around trying to get things ready for her stay.  And it’s also what I was alluding to in yesterday’s post when I mentioned that something could be going on.

Scott and I were supposed to refinance our mortgage today and I’ll spare you the details but we had to pull the plug. At. The. Last. Minute.  Literally an hour before closing, our mortgage advisor said she got the final paperwork in and it wasn’t right. She couldn’t figure out why and could we take a look.

Um, what?!

I don’t want to be going over the fine print for mistakes in the 11th hour. You dig?  So it got kiboshed.  Scott combed through the paperwork and it all is fine and works out but dang. We are rescheduling and this has done nothing to help my stress level.  Once it was fully decided that we were not closing, I made lunch.

Lunchie munchie

Lunchie munchie

I’m calling this halfsies lunch because I only ate half of everything.  Leftover sushi, salad, and fruit.  Salad was:

  • Mixed greens
  • Cucumber
  • Carrot
  • Raisins
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Crushed croutons

Dressed in Newman’s sundried tomato.

Fruit was cantaloupe and strawberries (for Scott).  The rest of the day was spent cleaning, prepping, and organizing.  And dealing with phone calls.  Today our phone was off the hook. Literally.  Everyone decided that they needed to call today.  Lordy!

After what seemed like ages, it was dinner time!  I have no idea what the future holds in terms of meals so tonight was pizza night!

But first, chips baby!  I didn’t have any last night so I had a few this evening.  I gave Scott tons of kisses today so I felt confident in my decision to have a few onion chips.  And some baked chips as well.  I did not eat that whole bowl but I could have!

extra veggies

extra veggies

I did my trick of adding in the extra veggies.  Shredded carrot, zucchini, and today chopped artichoke on top of the sauce and under the cheese.

Pizza Wednesday!

Pizza Wednesday!

Ta-da! Pizza!  On top is:

  • Green pepper
  • Banana pepper
  • Red onion
  • Buffalo chicken sausage
  • Mushrooms (for Scott)
  • Lots of moz

And of course, the aforementioned veggies under the cheese.  Topped with some buffalo sauce and baked.  Mmmm!  That’s a WF crust that I rolled out.

dinner

I had two and a half slices!  Normally I only have two so that’s a lot for me!

Mmmm beer

Scott sipped a honey porter and I had a few sips too.

Now I’m off to watch Pens playoff game 7.  And hopefully hit the hay early.

Oh oh oh! Our guest who is staying with us is a raw foodie!  Exciting in that I’ll get to chat with her about it but whoa guys I’m am very culinary unprepared for it as well!  Any suggestions on how to keep her happy for days?  Eeep!

  1. Very exciting that you have a house guest coming! They are having a WordPress event in Baltimore this weekend too. Not sure if it’s the same one or not?
