Saturday, May 9th, 2009:Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  Last night I plopped down on the couch to watch the Pens game and Scott plopped down with me except he brought along a friend.

A new to us beer, Sam Adam’s Imperial Double Stout.  Oh. Goodness. Dark and thick? You know I can’t turn that down! So I had a few sips here and there.  Lordy this is an amazingly delicious beer.  Very chocolaty rich with a coffee-flavored background.  YUM!  And after a bit I got up for a snack, my camera battery was charging so you’re going to have to use your imagination for this.

Two fortune cookies and some frozen grapes.  Hello random!  I wanted fruit and I wanted to mindlessly snack, so frozen grapes it was.  I also wanted a bit of sweetness so fortune cookies from weeks-ago Chinese takeout made an appearance. Although I don’t think I’ll be eating them anymore which makes me sad because I love them so.  They have partially hydrogenated something and we all know that is bad news.  Boo!  And then at 10:30 I went to bed because that’s how I roll on a Friday night.

I woke up at 7 this morning and got my butt out of bed.  I got Rocky taken care of then I came in the office and sorted through my pictures for Recap II which took me about an hour.  I know, it’s crazy!

After that I took a break for some coffee and to read blogs for a bit.  Scott got up just in time because I was about to gnaw my arm off.  Normally I would have went ahead and ate something, but since we have MT class on Saturday mornings, I wait so we can eat together.  And this way Scott doesn’t have to reheat something.  I’m nice sometimes. ;)  Today was oatbran!

Supah simple!

  • 1 1/3C vanilla soymilk
  • 1/3C oatbran
  • Mashed banana
  • Pinch cinnamon

Mix-ins were crushed walnuts, coconut, and a spoon of dark chocolate PB.  After breakfast and cleanup it was time for class!  Lordy I missed class since I’ve been out all week due to my leg needing a rest from the 1/2.  Today for some reason my right shin guard was feeling weird down around my ankle and now I’m sporting a lovely bruise on the top of my foot.  After class we ran some errands, including a PO trip and I got a package!  Check it!

Brazil love

Brazil love

Lori over at Fake Food Free is living in Brazil with her hubs for a bit.  She has trouble getting bars (Zbars, and things) so we decided to do an exchange.  I would load her up on some bars and she would send me some goodies from Brazil. :)  YaY!  Totally fun, right?  I will do a more in-depth photo when I have a bit more time.  I wanted to get this posted!

Once we got home it was lunch time.  Quick and easy.

I had a slice of pesto pizza with chicken and sundried tomatoes on it that I bought from WF along with a smoothie.

  • 1.5C unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1/2C POM
  • 1 C water
  • Large batch of kale
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango
  • Cantaloupe
  • Kiwi

Not a pretty looking thing but it sure did have a great personality!  And when you’re old like I am, looks aren’t everything and personality goes a long way!  Keep in mind, this makes smoothies for both Scott and I, otherwise this amount would keep me in smoothies for days.  Oh, and there’s some extra vegan nuggets on the side, I had three.  I also picked off the chicken as I didn’t want it.

Now I’m off to foam roll my leg and get some things done around the house.  Currently debating on grilling so dinner will be a surprise to me too!

  1. I’m not a lover of beer, but my Dad is a beer fanatic. I’ll have to look out for some veggie nuggets over here, I’m ashamed to admit I used to love chicken nuggets (when I ate meat) and would love to find a healthy, veggie alternative.

  2. I’m late in commenting on this. Just catching up. Thanks for the mention and I’m so glad you liked the box. I need to post about the bars soon. They came in so handy during my travels recently and now i’m saving the rest for taking back to Brazil. :)
