May 11th, 2009: Dinner

Hi gang!  I didn’t get enough accomplished today but I’m happy with the things I did.  One thing was move a new to us buffet into another room.  We’ve had this additional buffet since January and it’s been sitting right in the middle of the dining room the entire time.  I finally had enough and moved into our front sitting room.  It’s currently now resting in front of windows, which I hate, I don’t like covering up access to windows.  But it’s out of the way and more integrated.  We definitely will be able to use the storage.  And I did other random things like more organizing and things around the house.

Then I realized how scratchy my throat was feeling. :twitch:  The last thing I want is a cold or something resembling it. Hello Hamthrax, stay away. Thanks.

I got busy busting out some dinner.  Scott had choices this evening and he chose pasta.  I munched on these while I was in the kitchen.

Croutons I made with a small loaf of multigrain bread that had gone supah stale on me.  Oh they were yummy!  So much better than regular white bread croutons.  This had the garlicky goodness of croutons plus the nutty goodness of the grains and flax.  YUM!

Dinner for me included a very basic salad.

  • Mixed greens
  • Raisins
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Crushed croutons

And of course the pasta!

The salad I topped with some Newmans sundried tom dressing.  The pasta was multigrain penne with a veggie sauce that had:

  • Onions
  • Green peppers
  • Pepperoncinis
  • Zucchini
  • Carrot
  • Spinach
  • Chopped artichokes

A little bit of moz on top.  After kitchen cleanup is when things started going downhill.  I started feeling a little bit worse than before.  Sort of run-down tired and slightly light headed.  Meh.  I currently debating on going to SF class tonight or not.

This is Rocky’s new place to nap, right under my desk.  Don’t mind my Debbie Gibson Electric Youth Blue sweats.  They are super comfy and totally dorky looking because they have straight legs and are not baggy at all.  Making me look like some weird neon blue stick figure. But I only wear them at home, so who cares! Oh, and to walk the dog but he doesn’t mind Electric Youth and has informed me it’s Deborah now.  Whatevs.

  1. Debbie Gibson rocks. First concert I ever went to. Front row baby. She touched me. I bought an awesome oversized Electric Youth sweatshirt that I wore with bright blue leggings (yours?) and a porkie pie hat. I doused myself with Electric Youth perfume and thought I was the coolest girl in 7th grade.

    • Sarah, that’s awesome! My first concert was a NKOTB one. I didn’t like them much but my sister loved them so we went together. Took a bus from our little town to the show. It was an amphitheater and we were outside and it started to rain. Yuck!

  2. Hi Andrea!

What part of PA (ha, see there I go again) do you live in? It’s funny, I have days where I dream of moving to another state, but the other times, I just couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. You are right, people only know of Philly and Pittsburg, oh and Hershey but only because of the chocolate, I doubt many people even know that Hershey is in Pennsylvania.

It’s good to meet a fellow PA blogger! I haven’t come across too many. Hope you are having a great day and take care.
