For those of you who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter to you!! Today has been an amazingly relaxing day. Despite time flying by, which always happens on Sundays, it was a good day.
I slept in a little this morning and got up around 7:30ish. I took care of Rocks and noticed how amazing it was outside. I debated about going for a run or not and decided that my mental health needed a run this morning. I took it easy and slow. I only did 2.5 miles this morning partly because I would be taking a long walk with Rocky later and partly because I didn’t wear anything on my head and my ears got cold. Doh! I keep forgetting about the new headband I bought which covers just my ears to keep them warm. I considered making it 3.5 miles but my ears were too cold.
I wasn’t really in the mood for CS and I was only out for 28 minutes, hardly requiring a recovery drink, so I skipped it. I went straight into stretching and then changed out of running clothes into my robe. Mmm heaven. Then it was time for coffee!
I also had a bit of yogurt and granola (Bear Naked fruit and nut) with my coffee. I did office stuff and then started looking at cabins to rent in the Hocking Hills area. Scott and I very much need an escape however most cabins are now “in season” putting them out of our price range. I’ll have to see what I can find that is seculded, has covered hot tub, and allows pets (and pets over 45lbs. Hate pet weight limits! So dumb.). *sigh* It was nice to have that moment of planning a mini vacation.
Scott got up and I had another mug of coffee. Finally after I was done puttering around on the computer, I headed up to take a shower and become Weekend Presentable. Then I made us some lunch. I thought about a proper Sunday breakfast but wasn’t really in the mood for pancakes or things like that. I noticed a lot of bloggers going out to bistros over the weekend for lunch and brunch which made me finally decide on a bistro style lunch for us.
We had salmon mixed with chive cream cheese on top of pumpernickle. A side salad of mixed greens, raisins, sunflower and pumpkin seeds with the rest of the tomato viniagrette dressing. And a smoothie!
- 2 C unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1 C of OJ
- Bunch of kale
- 1 banana
- Frozen blueberries
- Frozen raspberries
- Blackberries
Berrytastic! Plus it was an amazing color. Lunch was so good and totally filling. Afterwards we headed over to a local park for a walk with Rocks. Then it was back home for more relaxing. We relaxed for a bit and Scott took a nap. While he was napping I talked with my mom for a little while. Once Scott got up it was time to decide what we were doing about dinner. He was hungry and I was only munchie. While we discussed things I had a small palmful of rice snacks and three pistachios. Finally it was decided to make snackies and have things to pick from.
Healthy plate.
- Apple
- Good sharp cheddar
- Apricots
- Carrots
- Cucumber
Junk plate.
- Alexia moz sticks
- Egg rolls (Scott’s mom’s and the very last from our stash. *sob*)
- Sausage slices (kielbasa, spinach and feta chick sausage)
All together, along with a glass of wine. Mmmmm! I mostly ate from the healthy plate. I had most of the apple, a few small nibs of cheddar, all the cucmber, and most of the carrot. I think maybe 3 apricots. From the junk plate I had 1/2 an eggroll, 1.5 moz sticks, and what probably amounts to half a sausage. I know we’re also having dessert tonight so I’m saving some room.
Bear Naked fruit and nut is my favorite of their granolas, in fact, I think I’m having it for breakfast in the morning
I love your snack plates!!
Handsome Rocky! Happy Easter dear!
mmm pumpernickel. Need to buy a loaf. Love that bread.
