Saturday, April 4th, 2009 (Supa long day!)

Hi guys!  Whoa but Scott and I have been going nonstop all day long.  It’s  5:30pm as I’m starting this post (I finished it at 9:50pm, long day!)and I’m just now sitting down for the first time today.  I don’t count the brief time I sat down and ate lunch. ;)

Last night Scott sipped on a Fireside Nut Brown and I only had a couple sips of that.  I was saving myself for this bad boy.

Oh yeah, dark chocolate stout love with some dark chocolate chips to go with it.  Mmmm baby.  Jim Gaffigan was okay but his Beyond the Pale was loads better.  I was in bed by 11pm, had to get in a quick episode of King of the Hill.  Thank you Cartoon Network!

I got up this morning at 7:30 and took care of Rocks.  Quickly poured a cup of coffee and sat down to get started doing office things.  Scott got up and we discussed our day.  We had every intention of going to MT class this morning but once we started plotting out everything we had to do, we concluded that MT class was not going to happen if we wanted to knock out these chores.  We have a MT seminar tomorrow which eats into some of our time and influenced our decision today.

I made us some breakfast of fabbo oatbran.

Oatbran goodness

Oatbran goodness

The bananas I got yesterday are a little under ripe so I didn’t put them in the oatbran today.  Still added the protein powder and flax though.  Also a bit of brown sugar, not much, to make up for the missing banana.  Mix-ins today were cranberries, crushed peanuts, and some dark chocolate PB.  The oatbran was awesome this morning!  The peanuts gave it some crunch and texture but didn’t over power or dominate in taste.  Perfect!

After breakfast we headed out to get things accomplished!  First stop was Dick’s Sporting goods.  I needed to look for some biker shorts and some longer light pants for running and MT.  Normally I cannot stand Dick’s because that store is so anti-female it’s not funny.  BUT! They did have a lot of running stuff, I was amazed!  I got some pretty sweet stuff today including a shirt that says, “Athletes Run”. :D

After Dick’s it was time to hit up Sam’s (is there a theme? what’s with all the guy named stores? jeesh.) which was a mad house today.  Saturdays are usually crazy but goodness today was worse.  We got all the things we needed and checked out as quickly as possible.  Then over to Big Bird because I needed some seltzer and other items I can only find there.

After that it was finally time to head back home and put things away!  And also grab some lunch. When we got home, I was greeted by a package!  Hooray!  I’m not telling you what it is just yet but it has me bouncing around all over the house.  YIPPIE!!

Once things were put away and I was done skipping around the house, I heated up some pizza and fries for lunch.

Didn't eat much

Didn't eat much

Even though it was after 3pm by this point, I wasn’t all that hungry.  I ate a few fries and had that 1/2 slice of pizza.  I had a bit from the larger slice but didn’t it want so I didn’t eat it.  While the pizza was heating up I did munch on a snack, and the only hint I’ll give you, is that it’s from my secret stash that had just arrived. :D

I was done eating before Scott so I started walking around the house trying to keep myself moving.  If I sat too long my body would start to settle and I wouldn’t want to get up and do anything else.  Chores weren’t done yet.  After Scott finished lunch, we headed back out to run some quick errands, including checking the PO Box.

Back home again but right back out the door with Rocky for his walk.  When we got back from that, I finally sat down for a second!  Whew!  Also on the list for today was doing yard work but that’s not happening.  We’re just pooped.  I fed Rocky and then we went out in the backyard for a bit while Scott went through and picked up bombs.  Then it was back inside and I put a pork roast in the oven.  Oooo I had it sitting with a rub all day long.  I loaded up some potoates and carrots in with the roast.  It smelled heavenly as it roasted.  Oh so good!  While that cooked, there was a snack.

Not Sabra

Not Sabra

Not Sabra Hummus with some flax and kashi crackers.  The Not Sabra Hummus was just meh because it was not Sabra.  I had a POM fizzie to drink.  Then the roast was done!

Oh yeah!

Oh yeah!

Cut twine is hanging off the side.  I decided to do Sunday Night dinner tonight; that way tomorrow I don’t have to do anything but chill! :D  I’ve got a 9mile run scheduled plus an MT seminar later the same day.  I’m pretty sure I’ll be pooped tomorrow night. :p

Yummers!

Yummers!

There’s my plate, a thin slice of roast and lots of veggies.  I put a bit of butter, S&P on my potatoes.  And I had a piece of pumpernickel bread with some butta on it.  We watched Heroes while eating.  This show drives me flipping bonkers.  We’re so behind because I can only watch so much of it before my head wants to explode.

Now I’m off to chill and rest up for my 9miler tomorrow. :o

I leave you with some Flight of the Conchords, Hiphopopotamus.  Love it!

    • Holly, I do! Except you add the oatbran and liquids at the same time (instead of waiting for it to boil and adding oats). It’s quick and easy, and very tasty! :D
