Hello my pretties!  If you read my Daily Eats section, you probably remember that I got a secret package in the mail not long ago.  And then you’ve probably noticed me stuffing my face with chips more often.  You get the gold star if you connected the two.

My BFF, Janet, over at Kettle Brand emailed me to let me know that they were sending me a package of chips as a “Thank you” for reviewing them on my blog.  How’s that for customer service?! Kettle rocks the house when it comes to interacting with their customers.  Seriously, other companies could learn a thing or two from them.  They also gave me a shoutout on their monthly newsletter, Chip Chat.  Did you know they had one?  Yup, full of Kettle Chip goodness.  You can sign up to receive it via their website.  And how clever is the name, Chip Chat?!  I fall more in love with Kettle every day.

I eagerly awaited my package curious to what it would hold.  Because it was shipped with FedEx, I was able to receive my package on a Saturday!  It came at the perfect time and I was totally blown away at the size of the box.  Holy cow!  Let’s open it and see what’s in there.

Whoa!  That’s a lot of chips, yo.  Since it was Saturday, I knew that Janet probably wasn’t in her office, so I made a mental note to email her first thing Monday morning and thank her for the wonderful gift.  I won’t force you to count but that’s 15 bags of chips.

Hell yes!  We love us some Kettle Brand up in here!  There’s a variety of all kinds, regular chips, baked, and krinkle cut.  Sweet!

This is the first bag that caught our eye.  We’ve tried some other “jalapeno” flavored chips in the past with each experience falling flat and not even being close to what we were expecting.  I was curious to taste Kettle’s take on the jalapeno chip.

I have to say that we were amazed with these chips.  They were everything we hoped they would be.

They are cooked perfectly so that there is a nice crunch and a very lovely texture.  However, the flavor is just beyond anything we’ve ever experienced!  They are so flavorful with a spicy kick that hits you at the end.  You can see little flecks of green jalapeno all over the chips.

It almost reminds me of a sour cream and onion chip with a spicy twist.  There is  definite onion and garlic notes but the jalapeno stands out.  The spiciness builds up after eating a few chips and that’s when you start reaching for a little drink.

And yes, we have found that beer goes very well with these chips.  They are great as part of a meal, like a side to a sandwich or some soup.  But both of us prefer to munch on these babies all by themselves while we’re watching a movie or a Pens game.

What’s that, you say?  You haven’t seen these in stores yet?

Oh yes, I know.  OHC HQ is getting a sneak peek at Kettle’s newest chip flavor.

I realize how jealous you are right now.

That’s right, according to my inside sources (that’d be Janet) this newest flavor should be shipping out to stores very soon.  The smaller snack bags have already started shipping out.  The larger bags will arrive just in time for summer grilling season and what perfect timing!
