April 30th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys! Last night Scott and I didn’t get home too late from SF class. We were able to bust out a quick walk with Rocky around the block and then on the couch and in our jammies shortly after 10pm. Not bad! I was a bit snacky and after going through many options in my head I decided on some popcorn.

no guilt here!

We snacked and watched some TV. I felt slightly guilty about eating the popcorn. “I should be having fruit!” “This really isn’t such a proper snack.”

But you know what? It tasted good and hit the spot exactly like I expected it to. I don’t eat popcorn everyday or even that often really so eff it. I was quickly over myself and my popcorn guilt. :D

I got to bed around 11pm and decided not to set my alarm, just get up whenever. That ended up being 7:30ish and I woke up to rain. Aw crap. I completely forgot it was supposed to rain today. Boo I took care of Rocks and poured myself a cup of coffee.

I headed into the office to see what the world was doing today. Not too much except flipping their lids over some swine flu. ;) I tried to catch up on my reader and do some office things. I walked into the kitchen for some water and discovered that the rain had stopped! I decided to take advantage of the situation and head out for a short run.

I woke up Scotts and then changed into running clothes and was out the door. I was a bit nervous during the run. It took my legs a while to get warmed up and took me a while before feeling comfortable. :o Um, not what I’m expecting to experience two days out from my race! I let it get to me for about a minute. “What if this turns out to be like Tuesday’s run which was utter crap?” “What if this is an indication about how I’m going to do Saturday?”

And then again, I forced myself to get over it. I was out for a run and to keep my legs fresh. After a while I got in a groove, my legs felt fine, and I was fine. I did 3.5 miles and felt awesome afterwards! I kept a good pace, sweated like a fool (I love sweating while working out!), and felt so much better for being able to get a short run in. Tomorrow rest day!

I had some CS and stretched. Then it started raining again so I made it just in time. Actually it was pouring rain, crazy.  I changed into comfy clothes and made some breakfast because I was starving!

Oatbran with a little more coffee.  The mix-ins were simple, crushed walnuts, coconut, and some cashew butter.  So tasty! The light reflecting in my coffee is in the shape of a fishie!

Date Night!

Tonight is date night for us and we’re off to the ballet! They are doing an adaption of The Great Gatsby which is a book I love and very much need to reread. We have to leave here around 6ish. I want plenty of time to get there, take pictures, and listen to the pre-show talk.

Scott and I discussed our options and decided the best plan of attack was to have a late lunch/early dinner type of thing mid-afternoon. And that’s exactly what we did! Bistro type food this afternoon.
