Hi guys!  Sorry I didn’t post yesterday.  I was feeling a bit yucky, so I sort of just hung out yesterday taking it easy.  Here’s a recap!

I woke up to my throat super sore and very hard to swallow.  I also felt a bit stuffy, had lots of drainage (ew, TMI?), and just felt not 100%.  I took care of Rocky, drank some more emergen-C and went back to lay in bed for a while.  MT class yesterday morning was not an option.  *grumble*

I rolled back out of bed just a bit after 9am.  I poured some human fuel and headed into the office to get some work done.  I had loads of people I needed to email back, packages to get ready, recaps to write, and pictures to review.  After a bit I finally decided to make some breakfast.  Something light but packed with a healthy punch.

I had a sort of yogurt mess.

  • 1 small red delicious (an apple a day, right?) chopped
  • 2% fage
  • 1/2 TBSP of ground flax
  • Fruit and nut bear naked

And a little bit more coffee, which I only ended up having a few sips of.  It took me forever to eat breakfast.  I had to take it slow and pace myself and also not take too long to chew otherwise my tummy would get queasy again.

I’m wondering if I had a reaction to the asparagus?  I’ve never had problems with it before and we eat it all the time!  But then I’ve also never chewed one down from the root that was uncooked.  Perhaps my body just didn’t take too kindly to it?  I can’t explain the sudden throat inflammation and crappy feeling.  It’s so strange especially since I haven’t been sick in over a year!

After eating, I did more blog work and recap stuff.  We took Rocky out for a stroll and when we got back Scott mentioned it was lunch time and he was a bit hungry.  Doh!  It had completely slipped my mind!  What’s also weird about this mysterious illness is that my appetite has gone out the window.  This is extremely odd because when I’ve been sick before, I still wanted to eat and would even eat like heavy Mexican food for example.  Now, not so much.  In fact the thought of eating sort of made me squeamish.

I heated up leftovers for Scott and realized I needed to eat something as well.  Despite not being hungry, I was a bit empty feeling and I did need to fuel my body even if it’s just a small amount.

I had a slice of oatnut bread topped with vanilla almond butter and on the side was a red pear.  With some OJ for extra kick.  The eggrolls in the middle were part of Scott’s lunch, I did not touch those.

After lunch, it was a trip to the post office to check the business PO box.  Then it was off to see a house nearby who just had their roof done.  We were scoping out the shingles they picked because the roofer seems to think they would match our house.  They’re okay and we are still deciding on what direction to take.  The upside is that I did get a package!  My running buddy, Rose, sent me a giftie!

Look at all that stuff!  Some nut mixes by Planter, running socks, and a sweet water bottle.  Awesome!!  That made my day. :D

After we got back, it was time to feed Rocky and then relax!  Since I was still a little under the weather, we just chilled on the couch playing Lego Batman.  I made us a quick “trail mix”.  Fishies and a nut packet from Rose, and some extra walnuts.  I would have added in some extra raisins but my stash is running low.

I had some cherry seltzer on the side.  We played for a long time when I realized that oh, maybe we needed to eat dinner.  I wasn’t hungry but again, knew I had to eat something.  I kept it plain and light.

Some pieces of chicken breast, a slice of cheddar, and some sweet potato chips.  Aren’t you just so jealous of my meals yesterday? ;)  We watched a Pens game while eating and then I headed up to bed to read for a bit and relax.  Thankfully my throat seemed to be doing better towards the later part of the day. Whew!
