March 30th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  My sleep was just okay last night due to the throat drama.  I’m thinking it may be time to suck it up and see a doctor.  Perhaps this is something more than just a passing cold.  Maybe it’s bronchitis or something bigger.  Blah I hate going to doctors especially if they have to take a swab of my throat because I have a really sensitive gag reflex.  Keep the jokes to yourself thanks. ;)

This morning all I wanted was to start drinking things to help hydrate and sooth my throat.  First up was coffee!  It was good and I wasn’t hungry at all so I decided to wait on breakfast.

I puttered around and got Scott up to start his day.  Then I started laundry and puttered around some more.

Breakfast was two things.  Apple + PB and a Quaker granola bar.

After breakfast it was time to take Rocks for a walk.  It is beautiful outside!  Still a bit breezy which is cold enough I had to wear the hood on my hoodie but otherwise a fantasticly gorgeous day.  When we got back I got started on lunch.  Scott was lucky and had leftover udon noodles.  I needed something a little softer on my throat so I had oatbran.

Boring?

Boring?

With a wee scoop of vanilla almond butter because I’m trying to conserve. And some seltzer to help scratch my throat, and orange slices in the middle.

Getting Organized

For those that know me, I’m an organizing freak.  But lately it seems that life around here has not been very organized.  I feel like I have a lot going on and with the addition of taking over Scott’s side business it’s added more to my plate.  The blog actually takes a lot of work and time.  And I love it!  The unorganized feeling revolves around finding and figuring out time to work on articles and recipes.  Plus I’ve made some amazing contacts and have plans in the works with them.  That’s not even counting the daily eats posts.  It’s like running my own side business! :D  I need to organize out my week and plan when I’m going to do what.  I also need to organize my workspace and make it more functional. Which requires a desk. We have a room upstairs we call “the mockffice (mock-office)” and Scott’s old corner desk is up there.  I’m thinking about just using that desk since I can’t find anything that suits my needs and doesn’t have outrageous shipping costs.

If you have an in-home office, how do you keep it clean and organized?  How do you store your files, where do you put everything?  What keeps you ogranized and running smoothly?

I know, one of the shortest most boring posts!  Sorry guys!

  1. I’m at work, so I don’t have a picture of my desk at home, but it’s super organized. It has a hutch to keep all your stuff under control. I will send you a pic of it tonight.
