March 18th, 2009: Breakfast and Lunch (do-over)

Hello lovies!  Rocky was gracious enough to allow me to sleep until 8am this morning.  Whooo!  I got up and took care of his morning routine.  Then I changed and did some shred level 1.  Not a bad way to start a morning.  Granted I was hungry so all my cardio stuff (jumping jacks, butt kicks, etc) caused my belly to make very ungirly like noises.  That was the downside.  The upside is my workout was done for the day.

I quickly made a yogurt mess to have with my coffee.

  • 2% fage
  • 1/2 TBSP of ground flax
  • Small scoop vanilla whey powder
  • Cranberries
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • Mango agave almond granola

So good!  I love yogurt messes.  Coffee was also awesome this morning. :D  After breakfast I showered and then took Rocky out for his morning walk.  It was glorious outside!  Clear blue skies and temps in the 60s.  I didn’t even have to wear a jacket or a light sweatshirt.  Wheee!

Once home, I changed and got started on lunch.  It’s time to make up for yesterday’s debacle!  Roll Call:

Excellent!

Smoothie today was with an orange juice base:

  • 3C OJ
  • 2 kale leaves stemmed
  • 1 medium carrot, chunked
  • 1 medium banana
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen peaches

Blended for a nice green monster.  3C of liquid makes 2 very large smoothies.  I’ve been needing to add a bit more liquid because my blender is being a drama queen and taking to pitching a fit if I do not.  Salad!

  • Mixed greens
  • Spinach
  • Corn
  • Peas
  • Cucumber
  • Tomatoes
  • Pinto beans

The dressing was super simple.  I cubed up the cucumber and tomato, sprinkled that with S&P, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and let it hang out.  Then I added in a dash of soy sauce, some red wine vinegar, and olive oil.  A few sprikles of sesame seeds and that was added to the greens.  YUM!!

The healthy fat is a quick guacamole.  It isn’t as bright green because I added some salsa to it and it was yummy!  Good carbs are kashi roasted veggie crackers, Scott had the tortilla chips.

Now I’m off to get some stuff done around the house during this beautiful day!
