March 16th, 2009: Breakfast and Dinner (and chocolate torte!)

Hi guys!  Scott and I plopped down on the couch and watched Death Race last night.  We had a glass of red during the first hour of the movie.  The second hour required another glass and some chocolate.  I busted out the leftover chocolate torte.  Seriously check out how huge this piece is.

And that’s after Scott and I had a few bites when we first got it.  Honkin’ huge.  I was able to cut it into three smaller portions.

I saved one slice and the other two hit the freezer for later.  Seriously, if I can portion something into three smaller portions, the original was seriously huge.

Scott and I split a slice while finishing the movie.  I did not finish that glass of wine though, I didn’t need it.  The movie wasn’t too bad.  A bit cheeze-ball at times but that’s expected from a movie about prison car races.  A little bit of Jason Statham kicking some butt, but could have used more.  After watching some of the bonus features (which were sort of lame), I headed up to my blissful bedtimes.

It was going on 8am when I finally rolled out of bed this morning.  Not shabby!  I got Rocks taken care of and noticed that the weather had a bit of a chill to it.  A little more than I would have liked but I don’t have a direct line to Mo’ Nature so there’s nothing I can do about that.

Yogurt mess for breakfast this morning!

  • 2% fage
  • 1/2 TBSP of ground flax
  • Small scoop vanilla protein powder
  • Granola
  • Cranberries

I was hungry but the yogurt mess wasn’t going over so well.  I think it’s the flavor of granola, I don’t particulary care for it too much and I finally realized this.  The coffee was amazing though!  Good job Scott!!  Mmm coffee sounds good right about now…

After breakfast, I did some bloggy stuff and then got laundry started.  I got dressed and took Rocky out for his walk.  It looked like it was going to rain soon, I didn’t want to chance waiting and then not being able to go.  It was a damp cold outside, which is so yucky.  The kind of chill that goes right to your bones.  Brrrr!

I did some more laundry and household things, then I made lunch!  I almost was going to have leftovers tonight for dinner, but the gloomy day inspired something else.  So I instead incorporated some chicken into lunch.

Salads!

  • Mixed greens
  • Spinach
  • Corn
  • Chopped carrot
  • 1/4 chopped avocado
  • Shredded chicken
  • Small cubes of pepperjack

Dressed with a sort of mustardy-horseradish dressing I made.  After the picture I added in some sliced almonds because my salad needed some crunch.

In the middle was a large orange for us to split.  I would have made smoothies but my blender was dirty and I didn’t feel like washing dishes before lunch.  Basically I was lazy. ;)

I’m still in the midst of planning out the rest of my day unsure how I want to approach it.  Work on blog articles (and new design)?  Work on organizing the house?  Stay home tonight for additional rest or hit up class?  Decisions, decisions….
