March 15th, 2009: Dinner

Hi guys!  We had some nice outside play time with Rocky this afternoon.

Yeah I'm running..

Yeah I'm running..

Wait, what's this?

Wait, what's this?

And then Scott and I had some nice playtime inside with Lego Batman. :D  We played for a bit and then I made us smoothies!

  • 3C of vanilla soymilk
  • 2 kale leaves, stemmed
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango

YUM!  So good!  However, it is probably time for me to invest in another blender.  When your blender starts smelling like smoke as you are making a smoothie, I’m guessing that is not a good sign. ;)

We played some more and then it was time for dinner.  Easy Sunday Supper!

I bought a rotisserie chicken from Sam’s yesterday and heated that up in the oven.  On the side was some green beans and little potatoes that I simmered in some chicken stock, buffalo sauce, and various seasonings.  I have a bit of butter, salt, and pepper on my potatoes.  1/4 of a chicken breast and a wing.  I was sipping on a splash of white wine mixed with some mandarin seltzer.  I didn’t eat all of the portion on my plate but a good bit of it.  I was satisfied.  Plus I know there will be red wine and some of the remaining chocolate torte from Friday evening. :D

So Scott and I were having this discussion.  I told him about these lines that have developed across the bridge of my nose.  They become more pronounced when I scowl so I must scowl a lot, I told him.  He said I can’t even scowl.

“What? I can totally scowl.  Look.”

“That is not even a scowl. You so cannot scowl properly.”

And then we had a discussion about what scowling is and what makes up a proper scowl.  Then he took my picture to prove that I cannot scowl.  Here is me doing my best scowl.

What do you think?

What do you think?

He cracked up and explained that this picture is proof I can’t scowl properly.  HMPH! I can totally scowl.  Look!  Scowling that just oozes disapproval.  Right?

  1. Hehe — to me, your eyes look perfectly scowly but I think the lips are supposed to be a little less bunched out (just from the nose down, it looks like you’re going in for a light kiss).
