February 10th, 2009: Breakfast and Lunch

Last night we tried out the demo to the Resident Evil 5 game.  I was excited and had high hopes. Those came crashing down immediately once we started playing.  Wow what a frustrating game.  I hope it’s just the fact it’s a demo and released before the game was finalized otherwise I’m not sure we’d be purchasing it.  Which really bums me out because RE4 was fantastic and one of my favorite games.

After that we decided to watch a movie, Hellboy 2.  I was a little snacky and was seriously in need of some salt action.

I put out some multigrain chips and sweet potato chips with some spicy hummus.  Scott had a Sam Adam’s Irish Red and I had a couple sips of that but not too much.  I snacked on some chips mostly with a few dipped in hummus here and there.  The movie was insanely bad.  Hellboy 1 was fine but 2, good lord.  Which makes me sad because the director of Hellboy 2 is doing The Hobbit. I know.  Very depressing news!

I headed up to bed going on 10pm and read for a little bit before finally crashing and calling it a day.  When my alarm went off this morning at 6am, I laid in bed for a minute listening for rain.  We were supposed to get rain all day today however it wasn’t raining when I woke up.  It did rain sometime during the night though.

The backyard is a yucky mess and we have to clear Rocky’s feets of mud when he comes back inside.  I was hungry this morning and desperately wanted some oats!

Standard oats with 1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder and 1 TBSP of ground flax.  Mix-ins were coconut, cranberries, walnuts, and some dark chocolate PB.

Along with morning coffee that Scott made perfectly!  I ate my breakfast while reading a few blogs.  Then I started working on some pictures and things when my computer decided it was going to protest.  Not enough space.  I couldn’t do anything, not even download my email.  HMPH!  It was causing me major issues and I decided to walk away from technology for a bit and hit my run.

It was so warm this morning!  I had on a really light pair of running pants, tee-shirt, and my hoodie.  Not even my toboggan, although I could have used it.  It was windy and that hurt my ears.  Boo  But other than that, it was major warm and I was a little too hot in my outfit.  More technology issues as my HRM decided it couldn’t find my HR.  So it started being really sporatic telling me I either had a HR of 30, or 178.  Oh-kay.  Whatevs, I decided to not let it get to me.

Once home I slammed two glasses of CS and then took Rocky out for a nice long walk.  It wasn’t raining yet and I didn’t know when it was going to start so I figured better get the walk in while I had a minute.  Forty-minutes later with one pooped pooch, I could settle in for some yoga.  Mmmm it felt really nice to stretch and relax before my shower!

When I came downstairs I was slightly munchy, so I pulled out some raisins.

When I came in the office, Scott said he cleared up some space on my computer so now I was able to work!  YaY!!  And this also reconfirms the fact I need to switch over to another computer and save the laptop for other things.  I did work and some bloggy stuff.  Then went in for some lunch.

Really easy lunch today, wraps!  I sauteed up some sliced green pepper and shredded carrot in some olive oil, then I added in some chick’n starters.  Seasoned with S&P, and chili powder, then added in some salsa and let it all warm through.  I used a multigrain flatout wrap with spinach and romaine, then topped that with the salsa chick’n strips mixture.  Scott’s had cheese but mine was cheese free.  Rolled that up and had some orange slices with it!  Yummy light and perfect lunch.

After lunch I did some stuffs around the house and put laundry away.  Now it’s back to work and bloggy stuff while I wait for my tea to heat up.  Trying a new flavor today!

Mandarin orange spice with a touch of honey.  Very tasty!!  Okay cats, I’ve got to boogie.  Due to more technology issues, this post me took a super long time to finish!  MEH  I’ll be back after MT tonight with b-day dinner #2! :D

  1. I have problems with my Laptop and it drives me mad. It’s slow and I keep losing internet connection. I think this is a major cause of stress in the world today. I sometimes feel like throwing it out the window. (18 floors up, that would really smash)
The wrap looks delish, although I would use tofu instead of chicken, I finally bought some myself, so I will be featuring them on my blog soon. I could eat one every day.

    • Helen, The chick’n strips are actually a fake chicken product made by Morningstar. It’s made out of veggie stuff. :D Just looks and has the texture of chicken.

Becky, Yes! And Hellboy 2, I was telling Scott seemed very 80s with the puppets. Like Labyrinth (Bowie one I mean) and that Tom Cruise movie where he was like an elf or something? I did see Pan’s Labyrinth and I didn’t care for it either. I went in thinking it was going to be a horror movie, all creepy and stuff. And it wasn’t that at all! I wasn’t prepared for a deep movie with a message! :p

  2. I felt the same way about the Hellboy movies. The director also did Pan’s Labyrinth — not sure if you’ve seen it but it was filled with special effects and creatures as well. Almost everyone I know loved it, but I had hard time with it b/c I was expecting more of a child’s happy fairy tale and it’s not uplifting at all.
