Hey! I’m posting my eats quick before I lay down for a short nap. I went to bed around 10ish last night and got up at 7am this morning. I wasn’t thinking too much about weather because when I checked last night it wasn’t supposed to be too cold.
Wrong. When I took Rocky out this morning, it was 1F. Sheeee-it. That’s flipping cold guys. I sat down and had some coffee while checking email and reading some blogs. When Scott told me it would be about 1/2 an hour to get to the race, I jumped up and made breakfast quick.
Oats. If I’m racing, I’m having oats. Standard mix:
- 1/2 C old fashioned oats
- 3/4C vanilla soymilk
- 1 mashed banana
- Pinch salt and cinnamon
Mix-ins were cranberries, crushed pecans, and some dark chocolate PB. I ate most of it but not all. My stomach was in knots. After breakfast it was time to get dressed and I made sure to dress warm since it was so cold.
Off to the race! Full report soon, just know it was hard. There was frustration, doubts, and possibly some tears. And then it was over and done and I was so relieved and thankful I made it.
I had two juice box size boxes of CS. Oh yeah, I brought some baby! And then it was time to head home. I was so thirsty and so hungry!
I inhaled some raisins right out of the container like an animal as lunch was heating up.
Lunch was leftovers which I was so thankful for. I had no energy to do much else!
Now I’m off to rest a bit and then get purty. Scott’s taking me out to dinner to celebrate my first race!
