January 18th, 2009: Dinner

After posting earlier, I did some quick bloggy stuff and then it was out the door with Rocky for his first walk in a few days.  He was so happy to be out and walking around!  It was also still snowing pretty good at this point.  I think we might have got another 4inches or so total.  The roads are not plowed and at this point I have no idea if they will get plowed.

When we got back from the walk both Scott and I were very hungry!  I guess Sunday breakfast didn’t hold us over too well.

I had some 2% fage (more yogurt!), 1/2 a banana, and some banana nut bear naked.  It was so good!  I love yogurt and granola. :D  I did even more bloggy stuff and got some stuff straightened out regarding my email.  Meh.  Technology sometimes isn’t so hot, right?

Then I started making dinner.  We were having fish today.  I had been looking forward to it for a while because I had such a craving for fish.  But first a snack!  Tonight’s theme is “Balls IN!”  I started off with a glass of white and some baked chips (chips split between me, Rocky, and Scott).

Oh my isn’t that glass huge?!  Scott poured it.  And just so you know, hours later I’m still nursing that first glass. :p  Then I pulled out some cheese cubes that I forgot to take a picture of!  I had three wee cubes of parrano.

Dinner time!  It was cod that I baked in the oven at 400 for a few minutes.  Topped with some seasonings (sea salt, pepper, garlic powder and chili powder) and brushed with olive oil.  On the side are some roasted veggies (carrots, sugar peas, red onion, and zucchini) and also some polenta.

This was my second attempt at polenta, my first being several years ago.  As it was cooking it sort of smelled like butt and I was a bit nervous.  At the end I added some 1/2 and 1/2, butter, and asiago & parm cheese.  I told you, Balls IN!  That made it much better and less butt smelling.

I had no intention of cleaning my plate because I snacked it up pretty good but I ended up cleaning my plate anyway except for a few small bites of polenta.

Now I’m off to finish my glass of wine and sit on the couch with Scott for the remaining few hours of the evening.  And also have another glass of wine.  Balls IN baby, Balls IN!

See you tomorrow! :D
