January 10th, 2009: Lunch and Dinner

Hi guys!  It was a little tricky getting to MT today because of the ice. Oh my!  Class was nice and even though it’s slow going getting back into the groove,  I’m not feeling quite so slow and rusty anymore.  After class Scott and I hit up Target quick just for a look-see.  They are already putting out the spring line and outdoor furniture.  Now I understand that retail stores operate on a totally different calendar than we do but this kills me.  First of all it won’t be spring for a very long time.  And by very long time, I mean a good 3.5-4 months before we start seeing balmy weather and green things again.  So seeing grills and deck furniture out now is a little depressing.  Especially when you leave the store and walk out into freezing weather with misty frozen rain and fog.  Meh.  But!  That doesn’t mean I didn’t buy anything! ;)

I scored some nice new dishes on clearance!  There are four of the green bowls and two of the brown.  I love them! :D  I also got some liquid bandage for my finger which isn’t as fun as the dishes.  Moving along!  I was starving when we got home and really wanted loads of veggies.  However, I was also really cold and didn’t want to eat something cold.

Lunch

Lunch

I heated up the leftover pizza. :D  In the middle are two clems and one orange.  I only ate 1 slice of pizza + two bites of another slice.  And a good bit of the fruit in the middle.  After lunch and cleanup we decided to watch Hellboy.  We have 1 & 2 to watch.  I don’t like heading into sequels if it has been a while since I’ve seen the first one, so I tend to rewatch stuff to refresh my brain.

After the movie Scott asked me what the plans for dinner were which is code for, “I’m starting to get a little hungry and could possibly eat soon.”   I wasn’t too terribly hungry but I still made us some dinner.

While I cooked dinner I had some of the baked kettle chips and a fizzie, cranberry juice + limeade.  Since I will mindlessly eat those chips, I had six and called it quits.

Dinner in the new bowl

Dinner in the new bowl

Because I didn’t get my veggie noodle dish last night, I decided to create my own. :D  The veggies are:

  • Sweet potato
  • Carrot
  • Broccoli
  • Green pepper
  • Onion
  • Zucchini
  • Snow peas

With a chicken stock and soy sauce based broth and put on top of WW spaghetti.  I just had a wee bit and I didn’t even eat all of that.  All the veggies but the zucchini and broccoli, I roasted first for a few minutes before adding them to the sauce.  It was yummy and hit the spot!

Now it’s time for me to chill with my hunnies and have a glass of wine. I’m craving something sweet so I may have some chocolate later.  See you tomorrow!
