December 30th, 2008: Breakfast and Dinner (?!)

Hi guys!  I’m sitting here finishing up my cocktail as I type up today’s eats! :D

I woke up ready to go this morning.  I was debating on eating first or running first.  I ended up eating first.  I was starting to get hungry and was pretty sure running before wouldn’t be a great experience.  I decided to make oats for breakfast since I hadn’t had them in ages.

Oh oats how I missed you!  They were so yummy and I just could not stop eating them.  Standard oats:

  • 3/4 C of vanilla soymilk
  • 1/2 C of quick oats
  • 1 mashed banana
  • Pinch salt and cinnamon

Mix-ins were cranberries, banana nut bear naked, and a spoon of dark chocolate PB.  Oh so yummy and totally hit the spot.

Had that along wtih coffee which was also very yummy this morning.  I read a few blogs and decided to get moving.

We’ve been having very warmish weather lately and I’ve only needed to wear one pair of pants and my hoodie for running.  I set out and was going at a nice easy pace.  I did the normal 3.5 mile loop.  As I was coming around to make my second loop, there was a small run-in with one of the construction guys.  I was running in the road (there’s no sidewalks in this section of neighborhood) and the guy was “walking to the car” or so he wanted me to think.  The whole time he was walking really slow, staring me down and had this sort of smirk/leer look going on.  Very creepy.  I’m going to have to find a new route because I’m not going to run past them again till that house is finished.  EW!

I made it back to the house and was feeling good.  I was in a groove, it was nice outside, and I wasn’t tired so I kept on going. :o  I did another loop to extend my run.  I did the mile loop that I sometimes take Rocky on so that should have extended my run for another mile.  It took me about 10 minutes to run it, so that sounds about right.  I ran for 53 minutes!  That’s my most ever so far.  :woohoo:

I came back and drank my CS while telling Scott about construction guy.  He was not pleased t’all.  I grabbed Rocks and we were back out for a mile walk.  Then I came back and hit the shower.  We had some errands to run again today, so after my shower we headed out.  First I had half a blueberry Z bar.

It was going on lunchtime and I was a bit hungry.  I wasn’t sure what we were doing about lunch so I didn’t eat too much.  We went store hopping.  One place was having a sale on flannel sheets, so we picked up two sets.  A queen size set of flannel sheets for $18 is a great price!  Then it was to the office store to look at chairs, desks, and pick up other things we needed like planners.  I am so ready to smack this office around and get it in gear because it is driving me bonkers.

After that it was to Giant Eagle to get some Fage because we are out and other than WF, that is the only place I can find it.  I snagged all of their 2% big tubs and all of their peach individual servings.

Then it was to the bank to deposite monies and then home!  By the time we got home it was after 4pm.  Holy cow!  And I hadn’t eaten anything big since my oaty breakfast.  Way to go oats!  I was hungry but it was sort of in the back of my mind, nothing pressing or making me cranky.  And definitely not starving, I’m going to eat my head stage.

I was craving going out to a nice little bistro type place.  Where I could have a glass of wine, a small fun salad, and maybe another little side dish.  However I don’t know of any place like that around here.  Instead of hemming and hawing about what we were going to do, I brought the bistro home!

We had white wine cocktails.

Lime juice + limeade + cranberry juice + white wine.  So yummy!  And very refreshing.  Pluse there was only a little bit of wine in the glass as opposed to a whole glass of wine.

Then salads!

  • Romaine
  • Spinach
  • Apples
  • Cranberries
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Goat cheese
  • Walnuts

All topped with some maple balsamic dressing.

And some cheesy oven fries on the side.

It was the perfect dinner/late lunch!  Now I’m going to take Rocks for another walk.  Then head upstairs and work on getting some of the rooms better organized.  Then I’m plopping down on the couch with a full glass of wine and chilling.  :D

Booty Buster Points:

4.5 mile run = 4.5 pts

1 mile walk = 1 pt

Total = 5.5 pts

I’ll add in the new walk point later!
