November 23rd, 2008: Lunch and Dinner

Hi guys! I worked a little this morning and put up a new recipe. Once all that was done, it was time for me to get started on Sunday breakfast. As I was doing that, Scott woke up and made his way downstairs. By the time everything was ready, I was starved!

Mmmm

We had scrambled eggs, (2 eggs + 2 egg whites), a slice of buttered WW toast, and some turkey bacon. On top of the scrambled eggs is a bit of shredded cheddar and some salsa. Mmmm! In the middle is a fruit salad (pineapple, mango, peaches) made from frozen fruits which I thawed. On the side is a wee portion of some bread pudding I had made. I ate everything, save for one slice of the bacon. I cleared my plate and then started focusing on the fruit! Pineapple being my fave out of the bunch.

After lunch we did clean up and then I also washed my new silverware!! I can’t believe after close to 10 years of living together, we finally have nice silverware. :p Our previous silverware were hand-me-downs from Scott’s parents. And they are nice but very basic and old. I wanted my own pretty silverware. It was actually hard finding a nice set that we both liked. And even these I like more than Scott does but I wanted new silverware for Thanksgiving this year so I picked up this set from Target. Not too shabby, right?

After all that clean up, I finally ran upstairs to shower! Then I started laundry and we practiced some SF things. We did that for a long while and eventually it was time for me to start dinner. I had some wings in the freezer that needed used because they were on the edge of freezer burnage. So we had those and a baked sweet potato. YUM! I know we’re going to have sweet potatoes later this week, but they are honestly my new found love and I needed one.

While the wings and potatoes were cooking, I caved and was a naughty girl.  I was a bit hungry so I made us a cheese plate and poured a glass of white. :O  On the cheese plate was:

  • English aged cheddar
  • Cranberry cheddar
  • Kashi honey sesame crackers
  • 7 grain pretzel sticks
  • Pistachios
  • Dats
  • Apricot jelly (no sugar or HFCS)

The English cheddar was amazing!  Very hard crumbly sharp cheddar.  I actually paired it with a kashi cracker and jelly and about passed out it was so good.  I had three of those, two crackers w/ jelly, some pistachios, 2 pieces of cranberry cheddar (and decided I didn’t care for it), 1 date, and 2 pretzels.

Then dinner! I started with half my sweet potato with some butter and cinnamon sugar and 5 wings.  Then I had one more wing and another 1/4 of the sweet potato and I was stuffed!  We ate and watched more of the Pens game.

Now it’s time to chill for a while. Tomorrow being an early day, I want to be in bed at a decent time. See you later!
