October 16th, 2008: Dinner

Hi guys! I’m knocking this post out while Scott’s on the phone with DirecTV. Meh. I’ll get to that in a second.

Pizza Thursday!

Pizza Thursday!

I did a little cleaning around the house like dusting, vacuuming, and that sort of thing. Then it was off to MT where we got our asses kicked tonight! Thursdays are conditioning nights and today’s was particularly tough. Man, I don’t even know how many pushups we did total but it was at least a 100 but most likely more. :o I was feeling good after class though! I like getting my butt kicked!

We came home and took Rocky for a quickie walk then it was time to hit the showers. After showering I started putting the pizza together. I decided to make a veggie pizza tonight. The crust was homemade and a mixture of whole wheat flour and bread flour. I also added in some parm and flax seeds. The sauce was store bought pizza sauce topped with some shredded moz and provolone. Then the veggies:

  • Green Peppers
  • Red Onion
  • Banana Peppers
  • Chopped broccoli
  • Mushrooms (on Scott’s half)

On my plate is three slices but I only ate two. I also had (and still have!) a wee bit of red (2oz?) in our Halloween glasses. :D I love having red wine with pizza and I was really craving that tonight, so I had some! With our pizza we sat down to watch the last 5 minutes of the Pens game from Tuesday. Which they won with 10 seconds left on the clock.

Then we tried to watch tonight’s game. “Channel not Purchased” or some error like that started flashing on the screen. Um, what?! It did that for all the sports channels. Troubleshooting said to reboot the receiver, so we did. Nothing. Scott called customer service to find out what the flipping deal was. Now I’ll keep it clean but trust me when I say the swear words were flying and not from Scott.

We have DirecTV and have the “sports package”, which is the main reason we have DirecTV (the other being they have more HD stations). This “sports package” gives you ALL the FSN channels (regular and HD), which would allow me to watch the Pens games (all of them) even though I’m not in the ‘burgh. We haven’t had a problem seeing the games until tonight. You wanna know why? According to customer service the NHL blacks out the games unless you buy the Center Ice package. Um, well then why did we get the previous games? “Oh, sometimes they do a preview to bring you in.”

Whatever. WHATEVER. No one told us this when we bought the sports package nor was it clear in any documentation that, “Oh by the way most of the time these stations are going to be blacked out and you won’t get to see anything anyway. Thanks for the cash though!” Sports package was cancelled and Center Ice was purchased. I am crabby and I wanted to cancel our account fully but Scott won’t do it because “we’re under contract”. Meh. I’ll give ’em under contract.

But anyway! Focusing on the positive, we now have the games and I didn’t miss too much. And with that I’m off to have more wine (needed!) and to finish the remainder of the game. See you guys tomorrow!
