September 7th, 2008: Breakfast and Lunch

Hi guys! I started off my day with a run! Whee!! My old schedule, I didn’t run on Saturdays (because of MT in the mornings), Sundays was rest, and then on Mondays because I have PT in the mornings. Well that’s just too many days in a row not running and I was starting to feel oogey and blah. I decided to change that and run on Sunday mornings. Today was the first day of the change! I wore one of my new exercise shirts I bought yesterday. It was great! Nice and light so the sweat didn’t feel like it was hanging around and sticking. I also remembered to wear a bandana on my wrist to mop up the sweat on my face. I did my long run (1.6 miles) today and have decided that is going to be my new route from now on until I’m ready to up the mileage again.

Had my recovery drink then grabbed Rocky and headed out the door. It was so cool this morning! I almost didn’t even need the bandana to mop up the sweat. There was enough of a breeze to keep things in check for the most part. It did seem like it might rain and then it did. A fine steady rain. Rocky, amazingly enough, didn’t seem to mind and I thought walking in the rain felt great! So we finished our big walk and headed home.

Trying something new

Since it’s Sunday, that means I’ll be making a big breakfast later for Scott and I, so I knew I needed to keep my after-run meal simple. I decided to try out the new Fage peach yogurt I bought.

I had that with my morning coffee. It was excellent! The peach was sweet and smooth while the yogurt was thick and extremely creamy. I will definitely get this again. I really enjoyed this combo for breakfast and may start doing this on Sundays when I can.

I worked on some OHC entries and then it was time to start making Sunday breakfast, I was getting hungry!! I pulled out some pancakes and waffles from the freezer and tossed them in the toaster oven.

I had the pancakes and Scott had the waffles which ended up being pumpkin waffles! These were all things I had made before and stored the leftovers in the freezer. I also made some maple sausage links; we each had three. I ate two pancakes that I dipped in regular pancake syrup (I need to find a healthier syrup) and all of the sausage because I couldn’t resist it. It was cooked perfectly and had a nice crispy brown crust! The butter is for Scott which he puts on his waffles and pancakes. I was going to do a bit of work today but decided against it. It’s Sunday, I’m going to relax! And do some laundry.
