September 4th, 2008: Morning

Morning guys! It’s Thursday and the start of the weekend over here at the OHC HQ. Woot! Let’s start with last night. I was getting super sleepy and decided to make some tea. When I’m tired, tea or red wine helps me relax even more. Since it wasn’t a day where I allow myself wine, tea was the choice. I made us some Archer Farms (Target Brand) Cinnamon and Spice tea.

Tea time!

Tea time!

I checked the box but it was not labeled decaffeinated. I figured the tea wouldn’t be too bad so I had some anyway with two spoonfuls of honey. I was still a bit hungry as dinner didn’t hold over as much as I thought it would.

Yum

I had a Kashi cookie (these are awesome!) and 7 Kashi Honey Sesame crackers. This was the perfect light snack with the tea. As I was drinking the tea, I noticed I wasn’t tired anymore but a little perky. I brushed it off thinking that it was just because I was having a hot drink and not because it was too much caffeine. I was wrong. I had such trouble falling asleep last night! I went to bed at 9pm to read and at 10:30 tried to lay down to sleep. Tossed and turned for what seemed like forever and eventually fell asleep but it took a long time! I’m sticking with my usual peppermint tea from now on, at least I know that won’t keep me up.

I woke up a bit earlier this morning and it worked out so that was nice. I might try and do this from now on. I extended my run today and actually mapped it out. Total I ran 1.6 miles and it was hard! Mostly the reason I was having such trouble I think is because it was a totally brand new route. Since I wasn’t used to it, it felt like it was going on forever. So many times I wanted to either stop and walk or cut it short and head back home. But I didn’t. I pushed myself and told myself that it was no big deal and I could do this. I’m so glad I did! According to my heart rate monitor, I finally broke 200 calories! I burned a total of 243 on this run. Woooo!!! I was pooped though and the high humidity didn’t help. Came home and had my recovery drink.

I think two glasses was too much though. I felt a little full and bloated. Grabbed Rocky and went on our walk. With the calories I burned on the walk plus my run, I’m over 300 today. Hooray! Stretched, changed and made some breakfast.

Only a couple slices of banana today

Only a couple slices of banana today

I did that because I was still full from the Silk and I knew we would be going to Whole Foods later today for lunch so I wanted to be sure and be hungry for that. Breakfast was a cup of coffee + creamer, 1/2 cup of granola, 5 slices of banana, small handful of raisins and cranberries and 4 scoops of vanilla Stoneyfield yogurt.

I found a program for Macs to map run routes and log training info and exercise info. I might download that and try it out today. Now I’m off to get my brows defuzzed and then it’s Whole Foods for lunch. See you later!
