September 18th, 2008: Dinner

I felt like such a slacker. We missed MT last night and that means we haven’t been to training for either art all week. Monday there was no power. Tuesday we got power but were busy dealing with getting everything back to normal around the house. Wednesday we were too tired and Scott’s wrist was still bothering him. And Thursday we decided to go to the grocery store. It needed done and Friday we both have other stuff to do so can’t do it then. The weekend is right out, the grocery store is crazy on the weekends. I figured if we went on Thursday late afternoonish-early evening, it wouldn’t be so packed. I was already hungry and there was no way I could go to the store with my stomach growling.

Little bit

Little bit

So I had some raisins and Kashi crackers to help tide me over. We get to the store and it is jam packed. Not only is it packed but it seemed to be full of first time shoppers who had no idea what they were doing. Stopping in the middle of the aisle, going down the aisle and then backing back up the entire aisle, leaving their cart and wondering off. So many people and so many things, it was all I could do to not flip out. I just stayed focused on my goal of getting my stuff and heading back home!

I bought a ton of veggies and fruits. A. Ton. So much that the cashier asked me if I was a vegetarian. :p Nope, we just eat a lot of veggies and fruit. I also buy my meat elsewhere which explains why there was none for him to check.

I had some vague plans for dinner but while we were shopping Scott said he was hungry and listed off a bunch of things that sounded good to him. One of them being mac and cheese. That’s what I decided to make.

After all the groceries were put away (I am not even going to discuss the bill, holy cow) and Rocky was fed, I started dinner prep. I put out some snacks since Scott already mentioned how hungry he was. Some smoked almonds, cubes of cheddar, and some dried cranberries. I had two cubes of cheese and two almonds, no cranberries. Rocky had three dried cranberries. He loves them!

I also made us some drinks. Cherry Lime Fizzies. Fill the glass halfway with Limeade and then top off with Cherry flavored seltzer. Squeeze a wedge of lime and add it to the mix. Yum!

Then it was time to eat! I had a small amount of mac and cheese along with another Cherry Lime Fizzie. We sat down and watched some stuff we recorded. Cleaned up the dishes and then headed up to bed. Watched some House Hunters in bed and then I was out!
