September 12th, 2008: Breakfast and Lunch

Hey guys! I think the theme for today is Highs and Lows. Jeeze it just keeps flipflopping from fun stuff to crabby stuff. I went to bed early last night but slept awful. It ended up getting hot so I was hot in bed (ick!) and there was a thunderstorm early this morning. I turned off my alarm thinking I would just sleep however long Rocky allowed and then go on my run. Well I was up at 7am anyway because of the crappy sleep so I just got up. To pouring rain. There goes my run. Booo! Had it only been slightly raining I would have went but it was pouring and I didn’t want to run in that.

I toss ed on a sweatshirt to take Rocky out for his morning potty run thinking it would be chilly like it’s been all week. Wrong! It was so hot and humid. Yuck! After I got back inside I took my sweatshirt off as quickly as possible. Since I had an appointment today at noon I knew I needed something big for breakfast. I decided to make some oats again and a big batch!

Creamy!

Creamy!

I used a full cup of vanilla Silk and 1/2 cup of quick oats. I added one banana mushed up and 1/2 cup of pumpkin and let that cook for a bit then added some cinnamon and vanilla extract. On top I added a handful of raisins, two spoonfuls of yogurt, and 1/4 cup of homemade granola. I ate that and checked mail while the coffee was sitting there getting super hot. After waiting 45 minutes (I told you I give it a while! ) it was coffee time!

This coffee was perfect this morning! It was so steaming hot and sweet and creamy and just plain awesome for the raining morning. After doing some stuff around the house and doing the dishes from last night it was time to get Scott up. I did some more stuff around the house and it was time to leave for my appointment. I was going to get my legs waxed! I love having that done. It lasts forever and when I do have to start shaving again, I can shave once a week and be fine. When it starts needing done more often is when I know it’s time to get waxed again. The last time I had my legs waxed was either in April or May but early in the year. I love the lady who does all my waxings, she’s so fun and nice to be around. She totally made my day today by tossing out lots of really nice compliments and then asked me if I’ve lost weight. “Yes! I have!”, I said. “I’ve lost 10lbs. Wheee!” And then we talked about that and running (she’s an avid runner) for a bit.

After my appointment we ran to WF and this is where another low comes in. We were supposed to do a nice leisurely shopping and take our time and look around and get some new stuff to try. Well Scott’s work wanted a conference call so we just had to run in quick to pick up some lunch and other quick things. I got some almond butter to try which is something I’ve been looking for. I saw a wee jar of it for $9.99 :o I thought that had to be wrong and mismarked but I couldn’t find the real price. I quick grabbed a bigger jar of it and couldn’t find any indication of price on that. But since it’s just almond butter it can’t be crazy high, right? Wrong! It was $18! Holy crap this almond butter better have a golden ticket or something because that is insane. I won’t be buying it again for sure. I’ll let you know when I try it though. I did score some HUGE peaches.

Can you see how it barely fits in my hand? So I bought I think like five of those babies. Hopefully they are good. Finally after what seemed like forever we arrived back home and it was time to eat!

veggie time!

veggie time!

I had a jam packed salad! From left to right we have a wee bit of egg salad, some moroccan chicken and bean stuff and then over in the corners you can see some salmon. All of that is sitting on top of mixed greens, spinach, romaine, with some peas, corn, red cabbage, a sprinkle of cheddar, and wheatberries. But that’s not all…

lunch time!

On the side are some roasted veggies I picked up which consists of squash and carrots. And in front of that is some WF wasabi dressing to dip some bites of salad into. In the middle are some different pasta dishes Scott picked up to go as a side to his sushi. I had three bites of the sesame noodle one and one bite of each of the others which I didn’t care for as much. I ate most of my salad only dipping it in the dressing a couple of times.

And now it’s the end of the day and I’m wondering what happened to Friday?! I had plans to grill for dinner but that got squashed because of the rain and crazy humidity. I don’t know what I’ll do but it’s going to be easy peasy because I feel like relaxing and gaming.
