Teaser

This stew is what I have been dreaming about all day long so far.  Basically ever since I stopped eating it yesterday, I have been counting down the time until I could eat it again.  Recipe to come, I just wanted to give you a little teaser!

The weekend flew by for me with barely a moment to breath and relax.  On Saturday I attended a food class focused on raw foods hosted by Ohio Blogging Association and put on by Purely Simple Raw.  It was informative and a nice chance to get to meet some other local bloggers.

After the class (which was just over two hours), I shopped of course! The class was held at Whole Foods and I needed veggies in a major way.  Whole Foods has champagne mangoes in now AND you get a discount if you purchase a whole case.  I don’t care for fresh mangoes, I only like frozen and yes I realize this is strange but fresh mangoes have an aftertaste I do not like.  Anyway, my point is that I bought the case for Scott who dearly dearly loves mangoes.  He’s been a happy camper since!

By the time I got home on Saturday, put away groceries, and made dinner it was going on 9pm.  YIKES! I was spent and went right up to bed.

Sunday was another day full of go, go, go!  Though on a much more relaxed scale.  I completed my long run, 9 miles, and the rest of the day was spent with Scott working on a new blog design for my developing health counseling business.

I’m currently battling mixed emotions with this.  I go from “squeee” to “holy crap this is for real” multiple times a day.  It’s a happy stress, if that makes any sense at all.  I’m working on putting together my first newsletter that will focus on updating about school and business building.  If you want to be included in that mailing, just comment or email me to let me know.

The entire rest of Sunday was spent on business related things and prepping for the upcoming school week.  Normally I try and take Sundays off from everything but since I lost some time on Saturday, I had to make it up someplace!  Thankfully I think we have made headway with the new site design and concept.

Like last month, this month is also shaping up to be super busy!  School, obviously, is my main focus right now and has taken over my life. I’m still leaving time though for some downtime and connecting with friends.  I have a fun event coming up this weekend at the HQ that I’m super excited about and can’t wait to share with you next week.

So tell me, what’s new and good in your life right now? Has spring sprung in your neck of the woods yet?

I picked up one of those mangoes this weekend. Normally I don’t have any luck with purchasing/preparing/consuming fresh ones, but I lucked out! I think the key was grabbing one that had some give and wasn’t rock hard. I hear you on the aftertaste, but this one didn’t have that! Maybe I need to stick with this kind and not the green-skinned ones?

Definitely add me to your email distro!

I’m tired of this rain today. Major ponding starting up in the backyard. I swear we didn’t used to have this problem! Since we put in the stone patio last fall, I’ve noticed the water build-up out in the grass. Maybe the formerly mossy, muddy area where the stone is now helped with the ponding?

Not sure if you’d be interested, but Brendan Brazier will be at the Westerville Raisin Rack store this Sunday the 10th @ 2pm. Looks like they want you to register either in store or by calling 614-882-5886. I’m not a vegan (or vegetarian), but I’ve heard a lot of buzz around his Thrive diet and the Vega products.

  3. the soup looks so good!

and so exciting about your school/business stuff! :)

    New/exciting things around here:
    – we took the horrible wallpaper out of our kitchen this weekend! painting is happening.
    – our friends had their baby this weekend :)
    – pretty sure I’ve solved my weird stomach issues, which is good and will take a lot of adjustments on my part.
