December 17th and 18th, 2009: baking away

Hi guys!  I really do not mean to keep doing these double day posts but with all the prep work happening for the holiday, some days I just don’t have time to post.  Or I’m too tired to post, or so on and so on.  You all get it so I’m not worried. :D  I’m going to breeze right through yesterday stopping to discuss in detail the most spectacular part.

Thursday:

I thought running was a good idea but my legs did not and I only made it through 2.5 miles before having to head back home.  Oh well, a run is a run. :D

Coffee and oatbran

Breakfast was a nice honking bowl of oatbran with coffee.

Smoothie, salad, fruit, vegan nuggets

Lunch was typical with the addition of some vegan nuggets.  Feta on the salad because I felt like it. ;)  I don’t remember what all was in the smoothie but I’m pretty sure it was same old same old.

Then we kicked it at conditioning class and that class was hard!  Lord!

And home to Pizza Thursday!

Pizza

We went straight up veggie pizza and it was glorious!

  • Spelt crust
  • Pizza sauce
  • Moz, parm, and asiago
  • Shredded carrot and zucchini
  • Red onion
  • Banana peppers

Pizza

Wheee!

Pizza

I ate those three pieces like they were nuttin’.

Later I had some red and some of my fantastic PB cookays!

Wine PB cookies

Friday:

I tried to sleep in a bit today but that wasn’t happenin’.  I took care of the Rocks and made myself some breakfast.

Coffee, yogurt and granola

Huge bowl of yogurt mess, standard issue:

  • 2% Fage
  • Apple
  • Granola

I need bigger bowls for my messes!  These just aren’t deep and wide enough.  I literally make a mess with my mess!

I walked Rocky and then paused for some lunch.

Smoothie, veggies, fruit, chick'n patty

I wasn’t too hungry around lunch time so I just picked my way through things.

  • Carrots and zucchini (I have decided I don’t dig on raw zuc unless it’s shredded in a salad)
  • Chick’n patty with BBQ on the side
  • Quick quac in the middle for mah carrots (chips for Scott)
  • And Clementins!

Smoothie was:

  • .5C Carrot juice
  • 1.5C Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1C Water
  • Spinach
  • Frozen peaches
  • 1 banana
  • Frozen blueberries

After lunch is when I started busting out the baked goods, which I proceeded to occupy my time with the rest of the day.  Literally the rest of the day.  I am wiped!

I made some nutrolls, granola, and then came up with a brand new cookie recipe that I think will delight you to pieces.  Wait until I post that bad boy up!  I decided to call it quits because I was starving for some dinner but first before I could stuff my face, my love needed a hair cut.

Then I prepped dinner and waited around until he was fully prettified.  Dinner was easy peasy!  Sorry no closeups, you understand I needed something in my bellah quick!

Salmon, asparagus, and brown rice

Salmon with:

  • Teriyaki
  • Chili garlic hot sauce
  • Spicy whole grain mustard
  • Sea salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Chili powder

Oh so good!  Asparagus with:

  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea salt

And brown jasmine on the side.  Now I’m off to wrap presents and open gifts!  I got a surprise gift in the mail so I’m anxious to see what it could be.  Also to have some wine because I am ready to start chilling!

Sorry about the quick and lame post but wanted something up so you all know I’m still kicking it around here. :p

    • Mama Pea, If I opened a gift and it was wine and cookies, I would be instant best friends with the giver! :D

Lynn, I’m not so much with the wrapping but am totally down with the opening!

Kilax, This is a great question! I liked it so much I’m working on a post about it. :D But I do think you would like it, it is creamy and smooth.

Lauren, Do you ever feel sort of off balance when the runs end up shorter than expected?

Brenda! Miss you! I check in on you often to see when you update. :)

      Thanks Jenny!

  1. I had the same kind of “cut” off run today. I started off with many miles in mind and only ended up getting out 2 before I had a major stomach cramp and had to cut it short. I’m thinking about trying it again sometime today, but we’ll see.

I love Pizza Thursday! We usually do pizza on Fridays but now that I am thinking about it, why wait until Friday to have pizza? I think you have the right idea with having this delight a day before the weekend. ;)

    Have a great weekend hun!
