September 21st, 2009: Liquid lunch

Hey gang!  I got up at the crazy hour of 7am this morning. I could have used some more sleep but my bod and Rocks weren’t having it.  I was surprised to wake up to more rain!  I loved it though.  Since Monday’s are my days off from running, it was nice to stay snug inside and get started on my day.

Coffee

I have to say that my day so far has been really boring! :p  I did some work and bloggy stuff for a while.  Then Scott got up and by this point I was finally hungry enough to want to eat.

yogurt and granola

We’re out of bananas so yogurt will probably be making a few more appearances.  With homemade granola, raisins, and ground flax.  YUM!  But filling; I couldn’t finish all of that so I gave the rest to Scott.

After breakfast I got busy rearranging furniture and getting the upstairs more organized and functional.  Everything looks so much better!  I can’t wait till we start decluttering for reals and get the stuff outta here.  I have no Craig’s List experience other than thinking the website looks like butt.  Have you all worked with it from the giving-away standpoint and how did that go?  We’ve got TVs, couches and end tables to give away.  And I’m ready for them to be gone, buh-bye, gone!

While furniture was getting moved I was also doing more laundry.  Fun! ;)

Lunch time came and I wasn’t hungry at all.  And neither was Scott.

:O  Who are we?!  My digestive tract still hasn’t righted itself and I’m starting to get cranky about it.  I have no idea what happened, but I’m thinking it has to be a result of the carb fest I had a few weeks back.  That shiz messed me up, yo!

While we weren’t hungry, we’re not ones to pass up smoothies.  And since I wanted more veg and fruit, I had no problems supplying the demand!

Smoothie

  • 1C OJ
  • 1C US cranberry juice
  • 1C water
  • Spinach
  • Parsnip
  • Frozen banana
  • Frozen blueberries

Blended till creamy and delish.

I did some more blogworthy things and headed into the kitchen to make dinner.  Scott was having leftovers, so I had a chard salad and baked sweet potato.

Salad

  • Chard
  • Escarole
  • Carrot
  • Zucchini
  • Banana peps
  • Almonds
  • Red onion

My first time having escarole and it was delish!

Baked sweet potato

And a baked sweet potato with a bit of butter and cinnamon sugar.

Salad and baked sweet potato

Look at all that glorious food!  I only buttered 1/2 of the potato because I thought for sure with that salad I was going to be full.  Not only did I kick that whole salad (I love stuffing my face with some Hugh Jass!)  I ate my whole potato.

And then I moved over to Scott’s potato and started picking at it! :p

And that was my day.  I told you it wasn’t too terribly exciting!  Now off to read for just a bit before SF class.  Tomorrow guys!

  1. Craigslist does look like a$$, but it’s a great tool. The only thing I would caution you about is having just anyone to your house to get stuff (I’m sure you know, but you know). Make sure to put in your ad that the people wanting the stuff must be local – otherwise you get people from 4 states away trying to scam something.

What might be even bettah is to advertise around OSU. They’ve just moved in and college kids always need furniture. Or, just put everything at the curb and it will disappear – lots of people will stop and grab stuff.

  2. My appetite has been hiding today too! It’s weird how when we think we are not hungry and start eating good foods, the appetie suddenly comes out from hiding. I love when that happens! :)

Looks like you had a nice relaxing day. Hope tonight is just as laid back for you.

I use Freecycle to get rid of stuff. I haven’t had any problems. Although I do like the idea of advertising around the university.
